Dupuis can be just as physical as kunitz. He is most nights already

I'll be pissed if Beau goes with Geno. His line needs a banger.
I like those lines. This is what I want to see as well. I see Bennett more as a fit with Crosby as well.

i think BB should go on Sid's line, but I don't think Disco breaks it up.

Super excited that BB got called up, but I'm really hoping this occurrence has no correlation with this:

Pittsburgh Penguins ‏@penguins
Evgeni Malkin and Brandon Sutter are the only players missing from #Pens practice at Southpointe.

So I guess we can assume this is Shero's last effort in finding that player within before going out there and making a trade. If it works out he sticks and if it doesn't no choice but to make a trade

Agreed. He's worth keeping around unless we need a roster spot when we hopefully acquire a quality winger at some point.

I don't think there is any chance of Bennett playing with Geno and Neal...honestly don't see what he'd add to that line that Cooke or Kunitz would if the lines were juggled a little to get Bennett along side of Crosby.

The way they've been playing though he shouldn't break it up and just try BB on Malkin's wing.

What I expect:
Bennett-Malkin-Neal
Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
Cooke-Sutter-Kennedy
Glass-Vitale-Adams

what I'd like:
Jeffrey/Boychuk-Malkin-Neal
Bennett-Crosby-Kunitz
Cooke-Sutter-Dupuis
Glass-Vitale-Adams
or
Kunitz-Malkin-Neal
Bennett-Crosby-Dupuis
Cooke-Sutter-Jeffrey/Boychuk
Glass-Vitale-Adams

Cooke was good on the second line but the potential 3rd line in the first situation is pretty awesome and the second one gives you last year's Malkin line. I'd like a few more games of seeing Jeffrey or Boychuk playing and Kennedy would be the one to sit in that situation.

Sutter probably needs a day off today. He took a really hard shot off his lower body on the pk last night. You could see he was in a ton of pain on the bench but sucked it up and continued playing.

It seems like it. There aren't many other avenues to go down if this one leads nowhere.

Fair enough! It's his birthday, too, I think. I remember taking a day off on my birthdays .

Here's hoping Geno's okay, too!

BB isn't really what that line needs, though. BB's skill set would go better on Sid's line, which is lacking in offensive skill/creativity. As has been pointed out by others, Geno and Neal don't need a BB, they need a banger.

Looks like they are keeping the top-2 lines the same, but Bennett is a 3rd liner?

Haven't see much of Bennett so i'm sure some know more then me in that case they can put back Koon with Neal and Malkin. I don't think Sid would mind and maybe Geno can get some of the magic back from last year

That's strange, but no Geno and Sutter so maybe it's just to plug a hole for practice

They're probably just using him for practice since he was already here and they needed a body

I would expect to see both of these on Friday if Dangles gets the call:

Bennett - Sid - Kunitz
Cooke - Geno - Neal

Bennett - Sid - Dupuis
Kunitz - Geno - Neal

I usually would be pumped right now, but somehow I see Beau making one minor mistake and either being shuffled through the bottom two lines or sent back to WBS followed by consecutive healthy scratches before being traded to Tampa for a 6th rounder.

Maybe they were planning on bringing up BB to play 2nd line yesterday afternoon after trade but after seeing cook on 2nd line decided to keep cook on 2nd line and put BB on 3rd line

Bennett's not a center though. He's filling hole for at least today

But if cook plays 2nd line wing im saying BB would take cooks wing spot on 3rd line. I would think their planning on keeping cook on 2nd line right now if hes practicing their today but i dunno im just guessing hopefully we get some answers from DB after practice.

This is a myth about DB being a jackass who benches guys for one minor mistake. Look at Despres. He made minor, and some major, mistakes, but also made a lot of positive plays and showed flashes of serious upside. In that way he forced DB's hand to keep him in the line-up.

Now if Bennett is largely ineffective and invisible, and starts making mistakes, then you should worry.
