Agree Jet. Their team just seems to "get it". Much like i wish our Jets would. I think a huge reason for that is their Head Coach Paul MacLean.

He's fun to watch - Ottawa has a pretty exciting team when they're healthy, IMHO. Very unfortunate for them - MacLean has them playing so well. The overall talent level probably isn't that far off of the Jets, but the coaching staff has them all buying in, and pointed in the right directiion.

Don't like them one whit when Jets are playing them, but during my years in Toronto after the Jets moved to Phoenix, I adopted them as my team to battle the Leafs propaganda.

Yea Lynk that looked really bad.......the way he threw his stick and couldn't touch the leg down.....there is no way that isn't at least partially severed.

That would be a massive blow to the Sens and could cost them a playoff spot especially with Spezza out. However goaltending and good coaching can carry you a long way so you never know.

Really not good for the Sens or the NHL.....he is really fun to watch.

Looked like an accident but I wouldn't even give Cooke the benefit of the doubt on it.

Chris Neil just tried gooning it up with Cooke, resulting in a double-minor.

Reminds me of Peluso last night with Rinaldo, but the rookie was overly quick in dropping his mitts.

Watch the replay and pay attention to where Cooke's eyes are facing, there is no way he intentionally slides the blade of his skate into that little spot under the calf gaurd of the skate

Not sure why Cooke is still playing hockey. Proly cuz he plays for Mario. But this man has changed his ways so many time before and yet he injures proly the best D-man in league. I'm so sad for Sens this is just brutal for them

I hate Cooke like most, but he really has toned it down the past few years. His son started doing what he did in games and that's what got him to tone it down.

Watch it in real time, Cooke is looking away from Karlsson and it was a puck battle. There is no way in hell that Cooke would purposely severe someone's achilles like that.

I was watching the game and all I could think of was "this is Selanne all over again".

Young player who rips up the league the year before, sets records, and wins a major trophy, severs his achilles the next season.

deja vu.

That's the exact same thing I thought of. Almost the exact same play.

In a bizarre twist of fate, the guy who's skate sliced Selanne's Achilles tendon (Don McSween, I believe) had his career ended a year later by a freak injury in a game vs. Winnipeg. Damaged a bunch of tendons in his arm, and I recall people saying it was an absolutely gruesome injury to witness.

I was reading 4 months at least for Karlsson.
Is that still accurate?

Yes, at least 3-4 months. He'll be done for the season.
