I always thought the best case scenario would be that he's back for the beginning of the regular season next season. Looks like he will be, so I'm happy.

This season is irrelevant.

Move Gonch. Start forming your roster for next year. We can contend next year.

Murray knows what's up.

Murray spoke to Shanahan this morning: "They suggested it was a hockey play gone bad. I suggested Cooke has somewhat of a history."

He should be outraged. How many times have our players been injured by questionable plays and nothing has EVER been done to at least show that it's not ok to do that to our players? NOTHING. NOTHING. It's infuriating to be an Ottawa fan at times. We are almost ALWAYS one of the highest pk to pp teams in the league and teams are allowed to constantly take liberties with our players.

Something has to be done about this. Dress all our goons and take out a bunch of players this year to show that we are not going to keep bending over for this ****.

Good news on Karlsson, he will heal fast. I get the feeling he has Alfie like healing abilities. This season may be a wash, but if we were to make the playoffs, at least Spezza would be back.

We do not have the D to carry this team... so a tank would not be so bad either.

- he is"outraged" over injury. Suggested that he spoke to league but told it was clean, he disagreed.
- Murray has made several calls to GMs since Spezza went down, but "no one wants to trade a good player for someone not in the league yet."
- Karlsson very angry about injury.
- Murray wore black BC he's worried, I think its a joke.

I'm not doctor but I think the difference between 70% and 100% is huge.

I'm no doctor

While it's true 70% is significant it's better than 100% and it means faster recovery and better chances of a full recovery

As far as I'm concerned, this is great news

100% and the tendon has to be shortened to become repaired. Because it is 70% he will not have to have it shortened, just repaired, so the chances that there are no long term implications are increased vastly.

Edit: Had a double negative.

Murray is just saying that...he knows we can't contend if we don't make any moves. Sounds like no GMs are willing to help us out. I just don't want to fall into mediocrity. Either tank or compete and if you are going to compete making a ****ing move.

Cut 2/3rds of the way through is far better than cut all the way through in terms of recovery. It means they didn't have to re-attach the damn thing.

I thought one quote was interesting. The "Anderson is a core piece and can be here another 5-8 years". I wonder if he is entertaining the possibility of dealing Lehner. I really hope not unless the return is significant, and even then, I don't know. I think we would regret trading Lehner big time. Lehner and Karlsson will lead us to a Cup imo, no question.

Don't make any moves. Give these kids some NHL experience, work on their game. If we get a high pick out of it, good, if not, it means the kids are alright. With Spezz and Karlsson back in next year, we'll be that much better. I would move Bishop for sure for another quality AHL'er at either D or F, get Lehner in some games and watch it unfold. Take the offseason to assess what we need and make the necessary moves. Stock up on picks at the deadline if the opportunity presents itself. We'll be fine in the long run folks, we knew some teams would have injury woes, we just happen to be one of them, but we still have a good team moving forward
