This has easily been my favorite album so far. Solid from start to finish.

Yeah, I've been listening to it every night for the past week. The second track "Vital" is beautiful. Such a great album to listen to on a quiet wintry night.

From what I've heard, the new Youth Lagoon album is shaping up to be pretty good, too.

You can listen to his new track, Mute, here: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/14905-mute/

This is great. Thanks!

Been listening to new Guards today. Don't know if it'll be on the best of at the end of the year but it's pretty darn nice.

Really loving the self-titled debut album by Torres. Extremely raw and emotional, reminds me a lot of PJ Harvey

I just started listening to Little Dragon. Wow. How the hell did I miss them? *sigh* you can't keep up with every band I suppose.

If you like Little Dragon, be sure to check out Robyn, Roisin Murphy, SBTRKT, Sampha, Lil Silva....

Just listened to the Foals - Holy Fire. Excellent, I love these guys. Really refining their sound and while many people say they sounding much more mainstream like its a bad thing, I love it. Groovy, pumping rock with an edge.

The Strokes released another track off their new album, much better than the last one.

Just purchased pre-sale tickets for The Lumineers. They'll be touring Montreal, Toronto, and Hamilton at the end of April/beginning of May.

It'll be my first time seeing them live, this should be great.

While you're at it, pick up tickets to Grizzly Bear and the XX. They're co-headlining a show at the Lachine Canal on June 7th.

Wow really? That's pretty awesome. I live just 5 mins away from there. Last year, I was clearly able to hear Foster the People during their show at the Canal.

But I have the LSAT coming up in June, so I don't think I'll be able to do much during that time. Thanks for the head's up though!

Free show then. Good luck on the LSAT. Definitely the priority. Just wanted to give you a heads up because you've let me know about upcoming concerts many times in the past.

New Foals album 'Holy Fire' is solid. They're doing a pretty good job pushing this one too. 'Providence' is probably the best track they've ever recorded IMO.

Probably checking out their show at the Kool Haus in May.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. The LSAT incidentally falls on the same day as my girlfriend's birthday. I'm gonna go ahead and take as a good luck sign.

By the way, I don't know where to post upcoming concert dates on the Habs forum, so I usually just post them here. Also check out Blue Skies Turns Black, a great website for upcoming indie rock gigs (almost all of them are under $30.) http://blueskiesturnblack.com/shows

I'm also thinking about checking out The Local Natives at the end of March. Oh and James Blake will be playing at the Metropolis in May.

Milk & Black Spiders ftw. And Spanish Sahara is still their best song IMO.

Some people say that a lot of their material sounds the same. It's kind of like U2 in a way, but they're excellent at what they do and have created a nice kind of style and harmony. Songwriting has come a long way too. Personally they're one of my favourite bands and Holy Fire is good the whole way through, not a weak song on the album. Deserved better on Pitchfork.
