I really doubt it, he was trying to pin him to the boards, he had to shift his weight to his right to keep his balance. Hell, he wasnt even really looking at Karlssons feet.
I hate Cooke and would love to blame him, but it was really just a freak accident.

6-4 now. If the other team gets competent defense/goaltending, the Flames are no threat.

I don't think you understood my point. If you have back to back Alberta games any team knows that the easier pts will be found in Edmonton.

Which Dallas Stars have already found twice. They beat us for fun despite people thinking what the margin of play was. I don't think at anypoint last night the Stars were doubtful about what the result would be.

I understand that point. I'm just saying that giving the Flames easy points is just as silly.

7 goals for Calgary.

Cue their climb out of the cellar and past us in the standings.

Not with that goaltending they won't. They get the Blues next who aren't going to allow that many grade A chances.

I just had a terrible thought. The (f)lames ahead of us in the standings and with more goals.

The Flames scoring more goals than us doesn't surprise me. They're short on skill but they have lots of will. They'll go to the net and against a marginal NHL goaltender like Bachman that equals lots and lots of goals.

If the Oilers were the easier points, we'd have seen Bachman in net last night.

You mean the same St. Louis Blues that lead the west in GA with 43? Hmmm.

The Flames are playing better hockey under Hartley I think. He suits that roster more than Sutter did. Cammalleri is better than Bourque too.

They're still not making the playoffs though.

Personally I hope the Flames go on a bit of a run.

I really don't want to see them with a top 5 draft pick.

No, you make sure you get the two pts on a back to back. The game where the 2pts was more likely is Edmonton.

I know this org always think it backwards and tries to beat the best teams and lose to others but its sensible to take the pts that are there and have your number one doing that.

Well, Krueger did start Khabi against Detroit and Dubnyk against Columbus.

Well played Krueger... knowing the Oilers were toast in Detroit anyway and would need Dubnyk in all his glory as they'd crap the bed and get outshot almost 3-1 by last year's basement dwellers the next night... well played.

Not shocking at all. Dallas used their backup and were playing back to back games.

That's what Lamoriello was dealing with.
Who knows with Edmonton nothing is season-ending when first reported. The fact remains we could use some proven talent at center.

As for karlsson what happened? Today I see they have an article about Cooke not getting a hearing? Was it dirty?

It was a reckless and dangerous play but highly unlikely there was any intent to cut Karlsson.

I realize because it's Cooke it's difficult to be objective, but we see guys along the boards all the time lose their balance and yet people don't get cut.

It could be simply a random event that would eventually happen regardless of the players involved, but because it's Cooke, his skate blade was perpendicular to Karlsson's leg, and it came down right on the Achilles, I just have this feeling it was intentional.

Or at least, reckless as to the consequences. But then I hate Cooke.

Bryan Murray says Erik Karlsson had surgery this morning. 70% cut of Achilles tendon. Out 3-4 months. #Sens

I know. I was saying in the PGT that this exact scenario would play out.

Tough break for the Sens... literally impossible to replace someone like that and it basically instantly takes them from a playoff spot to out of it.
