Who would you choose?

There are some debates going on so I'm looking to get some answers without the "blinders" on. I'm just going to put some stats up and see what you folks think. These are two players on the same team and the argument is who should be playing over who.

For your 4th line center, would you prefer:

A) Age-36/Ht-Wt 6ft 190lbs / GP-12, G-0, A-0, Pts-0, Hits-16, Blks-5, FO-51%

B) Age-28/Ht-Wt 6'7" 244lbs / GP-9, G-0, A-1, Pts-1, Hits-33, Blks-8, FO-53%

Going back 2 more full seasons ('10-'11/'11-'12) (totals of both seasons combined)

A) GP-143, G-15, A-27, Hits-97, Blks-86, FO (avg 2 yrs)-57.6%

B) GP-164, G-32, A-29, Hits-476, Blks-169, FO (avg 2 yrs)-51.7

Who is your guy for your 4th line center, A or B?

Going just off stats, probably B. Going just off of stats is stupid though.

A) 700k

B) 1.7M

Both on the roster though so both salaries count to the cap. One in press box and one playing.

You got it!

The argument I'm hearing is that Boyle is worthless because he has 1 point in 9 games. I feel that his intangibles bring a lot more to NYR 4th line than Halpern, and nobody seems to care that Halpern isn't producing offensively any more than Boyler, doesn't hit, isn't winning FO's, etc. The guy is a top 10 NHL forward in hits the last 2 seasons and was #1 (among Forwards) this season before he was benched.

*edit... changed top 5 NHL forward to top 10. My apologies.

Unless player B has some attitude issues, and cant play defensively, I take him every time.

Speaking of FO's... look at the end of the Boston game the other day when NY blew the 3-1 lead with less than 2 mins left. Why? Nobody to take a defensive zone face off. Halpern (A) wasn't even put on the ice. Boyle (B) was in the press box. Multiple FO's lost... 2 goals scored against.
