I actually agree about the point of the talent pool.. there is not as many great players spread across the league but the league will likely never contract.
I'd also say the same talent pool problems are in every sport, you don't see them contracting either.
I'm not sure it's that simple though. Obviously as you expand, it dilutes the talent pool to some extent, but on the flipside, many years ago, there was not the heavy influx of players from Europe/Russia and hockey has grown by leaps and bounds in the US and other countries. I think the reason some players don't look as great, is because the competition and goaltending they are going against is so much better.
The NHL teams have a much more extensive scouting in other countries thus the best players in the world are all truly now in the NHL. That wasn't always the case.
Tonight should be fun. Kind of an "all hands on deck" vibe, with the added bonus that we give a kid a shot, and the even-further bonus that JR may actually be forced to acknowledge that we're in desperate need of some defensemen. I'm excited.
Getting ready to head out to the Arena.
Ellis in with Timmy and Joni out could spell trouble.
I would expect Faulk and Harrison to put in excess of 25 minutes.
The real question is who gets to play with Sangs, just doesn't seem to be real good option there.
I would go McBain Faulk
