Tavares is obvious, giving a nod to Cizikas for his hustle. He's so good defensively in the neutral zone as well. He is a player teams like Tampa Bay, NJD, Detroit etc would demand back in any type of trade.

Cizikas is a tough one. I agree that he always impresses me with his hustle and he seems to play smart. Creates an offensive play or two. That said I just don't think he has a big enough impact for me to vote for him in a poll like this. At least not in tonight's game.

JT was a beast. The kid is relentless, like a pit bull. It's magnificent to watch.

Nabby was pretty good.

I voted for both. It's a forgone conclusion Tavares wins this poll before it even opened. Just wanted to show some love for the kid.

I voted for JT and Nabby.

I quoted you because I loved what you said about JT, he is a pit bull, relentless ! I said this prior to the draft that year, he reminds me so much of Parise, he just won't quit until he scores, I never saw anyone like JT as far as not giving up on the puck, and Parise was just like that on the Devils. Turns out, JT just needed to get stronger before he became Parise-like, though I now feel his upside is higher than Parise's.

No just Martin, it was that whole line(Cizikas and McDonald). I also think McDonald is somewhat underrated. The guy is perfect for the 4th line.

We take Martin for granted. He's excellent. He deserves more minutes. I'd play him in the top six.

Tavares, Martin, Nabby... and Vis had a better game than has been mentioned by most, including defensively.

Voting Other for Doug Weight, because he showed Jack Capuano how to motivate a ****ing hockey team.

Tavares is a beast.

Nabby was clutch. Visnovsky is impressing me with his positioning and vision and is just fun to watch.

Islanderfan17, damn straight to mention Weight. Did anyone read his lips when he was giving it to a ref before the shootout? "Do your job, just do your job!" in reference to the non call on Grabner's breakaway when he was hooked 3 times at the end of regulation. I want him as our coach one day.

I voted 4xs I thought JT,Nabby,Visnovsky and Martin. He only got 8 votes?????? He was only player to have played a complete game and i know it looks better being on the scorecard but you can't deny he took about 20 seconds off are rags penalty by himself and got a partial breakaway and was crushing everyone in sight..Maybe i'm biased cause i happen to love the guy but still in the horrid 95% of the 1st period he was the only player that stood out!! He got rewarded starting the 2nd period on was on the ice for the 1st Isles goal. I know he is not JT but how about some love??????

P.S. Just read redbull and Isles enforcer post and glad to see some of us here see his somewhat underrated value.

Needless to say Tavares is the heart and soul that makes this team tick. However, like some have said that fourth line was the real deal tonight. Often Torts tried to roll out his big scorers against then and they held soundly. MacDonald like some have mentioned is fairly underrated. The guy has great hustle and makes subtle little plays that help this team in so many ways.
