I'm purposefully not praising Bourque yet because we haven't seen him "fall off" so far and that's what every Flames fan warned us about. Otherwise I'd be singing his praises daily, me and OneSharpMarble were the only folks initially ecstatic about the trade, Bourque's a good player on a fantastic deal.
I have nothing but good things to say about Bourque's play this year, he deserved that. Hopefully he can score more goals, but besides that he's playing like the old Bourque I used to be a fan of in Calgary.
So where is the guy who was bashing Bourque earlier?
Oh wait, he was watching a different game...
Read my latest post. There's a difference between bashing and expressing what was going on. In the end, in the first half of the game, whether it's on effort or synchronism, I found Bourque was a lot more "meh" than he was usually, as so far, this season, we've been used to seeing him be a total beast out there.
Credit to him for always going hard to the net and having good hand/eye synchronism on that goal. He was also much more effective on puck races as the game went on.
But I maintain that he, and his line, had a rough start along the boards.
