Better off not having them, believe me. It would take Rags to a whole new level.

Folks, he isn't a buffalo. He doesn't have a Sabre. He's a freakin large cat from 35 million years ago.

Living in Buffalo, I see my fair share of Sabretooth and he's pretty awesome. Whenever I go to a Rangers-Sabres game he always gives my friends and I a big thumbs down for cheering on the Rangers. His merchandise is pretty cute too. Perfect gift for a female Sabres fan.

I'm glad Buffalo doesn't have ice girls too. It's just so cheesy. But I can do without Sabretooth. I think a Buffalo would of been more fitting (yes, I know, buster bison, and victor e. bull etc...) still ... a cat? Lame.

In todays p/c world, a real Indian chief as a mascot would never fly. They made U of Illinois discontinue Chief Illiniwek.

This abominations name is Tommy Hawk. Poor play on words for tomahawk.

Marketing decided the original Tommy Hawk didnt look kid friendly enough so they decided to rip off the San Diego chickens design and created this sorry excuse for a mascot design.

I think it was probably the most clever direction they could go. Not saying much, but at least it's better than Victor E. Bull. If I have to hear another UB pun I'm going to lose it.

Worst mascot EVER, most kids avoid him like the plague at the games, and adults hate him . and I'm a Wild fan.

I don't know why but this thread has had me in tears laughing especially the Blue Jackets cannon, the Jets moose with that massive goofy smile, and the Vancouver one when he had a beard during the finals. I love mascots though, they always give me a good laugh no matter how ugly they are. Bailey rules though!

I don't understand how anyone can hate on the Ducks Wild Wing. He is an awesome mascot, especially considering how awful a duck mascot should be.

Also the fact that he has been on fire makes him even cooler.

Not mascot, but the Oilers "The Oiler" Guardian was hilarious, spewing oil over the Great White North (not that many of the others was much better, but this one took the cake):

Not really a tribute. It just is the Moose mascot. Exact same, they just gave him the new jersey. I like it. As was said at the time, it is a million times better than whatever anthropomorphic jet mascot they might have come up with.

I think that guy is pretty good too. I am not of the opinion that mascots always need to be such a literal interpretation of the franchise nickname.

Of course, a lot of it depends on the actor/actress, too.

But then, I've never understood the mindset that they'd have to do it.

Sparky is awesome I always watch him **** around with fans and it's hilarious.

Nyles was super creepy as a child during that time.

Did anyone else absolutely hate this cross promotion? I feel it was such a waste of time and money.

I miss Nyles!!! Maybe just cause I was a kid and loved mascots. I have like 3 jerseys and 4 programs signed by that dude. HAHA... yea, Sparky the Dragon sucks. Hope they get a new suit when they mve to Brooklyn. I actually hope a lot of things...well see what happens
