They are going to announce the automatic awarding of the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals to the Canadians for how dominant they are/would be. But the answer to the question is quite simple. Both Canada and the USA failed on large ice in Turin 2006 so I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of them fails to make it to the final in Sochi, and that could even be Canada especially if it faces one of its black beasts such as Switzerland or Finland.
