In my less sober moments I'm tempted to start a satirical Metal band called Slack Babbath, and play such songs as Pastor of Muppets and Red Metal.

Nanowar are terrible though. Beatallica were more entertaining.

Manowar is okay in small doses. They are even more Spinal Tap than Spinal Tap though.

Edit: Oops this Nanowar, didnt even know there was a such thing

Nanowar are imo the best satrical metal band out there. While they mostly focus on making fun of Manowar and Rhapsody Of Fire, they have done so much funny music that i have not heard anyone top. They are like the heavy(power) metal verision of Steel Panther.

Songs such as "The Number of the B***h", RAP-sody, Blood of the queens and Look At Two Reels (Read LUCA TURILLI ) are just brilliant.

Also, their 8 seconds long song, "Power of the Power of the Power (Of the Great Sword)", who have a 2 minute+ intro is awesome

Iron Glory. Pity that the only recording may be lost to the depths of the internet.

anything by Gojira (From Mars To Sirius is particularly heavy), The Sword - Gods of the Earth....

and a little band called Watchmaker. You probably won't be able to find any clips or samples on that last one, but trust me. The first time I listened to it, it literally scared me deep in the pit of my stomach that any person on earth could have that much hatred inside of them.

Even limiting the spectrum to "metal" comedians, Posehn isn't the best. Meet Steve Hughes (NSFW).

Too busy to listen to the whole thing but I checked out a little, he is pretty good. Thanks for the link, will check out the rest later tonight.

Still like Brian Posehn, him and Jim Jefferies are probably my two current favorites. I kind of like Natasha Leggero too.

One of mu favorite death metal bands Verminous is releasing their second album this spring in about 2 months. It's been 10 years since they released their first album. It's been a long wait but they released a song today and as expected it delivered the goods.

If you're gonna throw some Eyehategod songs in there, I'd go with "My Name Is God I Hate You" off of their "Dopesick" album and really pretty much anything off of their "Take As Needed For Pain" album. When it comes to picking a song or two off of "Take As Needed For Pain" I'd go with either "Blank" or "Who Gave Her The Roses" but really you can't miss with any track off of that album. It's so Sabbath-y and hateful and vicious.

Anyone interested in an 11-hour drone epic?

This band is actually good when they're not taking the piss.
