nope, never played with those two. I played with Gabe before he went to Juniors in Vancouver. But he is built pretty well, good hockey sense, and a good shot. But that's all different then the NHL when ur playing aginast people with a half of foot of height on you and can move just as well as you. His game is built on brute force, so I'm not sure if he'll be able to make it in the NHL.
Had size not been such a major issue, there would be other Californians I played with who would have a much better chance at making the NHL then him. Some of my teammates had superior vision and were just extremely smart players. Good to see him get a chance though. I actually played a lot with the different Californian players who are making it out, from Alex Kim, Noah Clarke, Richard Park, Ryan Hollweg, Brett Sterling, and now Gabe Gautheir.
Funny, my friends know all of those guys. Did Sterling get drafted, cause they were wondering about that today.
My friends played roller with those guys, not ice by the way.
Is this signing official? I noticed that TSN's NHL transactions don't list it and the Kings' haven't announced it. So did it actually happen? If a radio station in Colorado reports something, but nobody else reports it, did it really happen? lol
