Ya, this is my feeling on it too. He doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. At the same time, the league won't do anything about it because there is some doubt. Once again Cooke finds himself right on the line.

I remember that one. First time i heard of Evander, after that I realized he actually is a pretty decent player +1 for him.

Agree with many posters - not intentional but the guy is careless. i.e. a high stick happens but some guys hardly ever high stick another player while others mcsorely it up. So while it was an accident it's extremely careless and now this ****face potentially ruins the career of another great hockey player.

We all have our questions about Cooke, but I'm not sure Sens management is stirring the pot effectively here...

Senators owner Eugene Melnyk 'outraged' over loss of Erik Karlsson

"I'm just hoping that this is something that is looked at for what it is and something positive comes out of what is really a tragedy for us."

Melnyk wondered why Cooke -- who has been suspended five times -- is allowed to play in the league. All this incident did was reinforce Melnyk's thinking.

"This guy should be kicked ... He doesn't belong in the league. He belongs somewhere where the goons play," said an emotional Melnyk. "Get him in the Central league. He can be a $60,000-a-year guy playing pick-up hockey there.

"The guy does not deserve ... He's got one purpose. I remember when this happened with Spezza. I said, 'If these are the rules, I just want to know.' We'll play with the same rules. Make sure you have one or two goons whose job is to do this either intentionally or unintentionally.

I thought it looked like he chopped down with his skate. I'm not saying he wanted to sever his Achilles but IMO Cooke wanted Karlsson to feel that on the boot. Think twice about going into the corner. At best it looked like he wanted to slew foot him. If the skate happened to go up I'd agree but he chopped down . Looked like some intent there to me.

It's kind of ridiculous this is what goaltending has come down to. RT

That photo looks like they're stuffing an eight foot tall giant covered in padding into a four foot tall net. (Which is close...)

this is the photo he RTed

Eugene Melnik should shut his yap.

It was a accident and if he knew how to play the game instead of writting checks, he'd understand. Ok, your top star got injured on a freak play, it happens guy... get over it and shut the **** up.

Throwing players under the buss, especially players that don't for him, is a coward thing to do and to say that players in the Central are goons and nothing more is just spitting in the face of the players who are actually trying to make a living and realise their dreams. Sure, some of them are goons, but you don't talk like that when your the owner of a "respectable" franchise.

You'll never see that from Lou and that's why this franchise is made out of pure class cause it starts from the top and trickles down to everyone else in that organisation.

I asked before the season started what was going on with him, since he wasn't dominating the AHL. It'll be interesting to see where he goes from here.

Of course the HF trade board still probably wouldn't trade Kreider for Crosby though.

And who's that? They have so many studs on that team, it's just hard to keep track at times.

I actually did think he was referring to Miller at first lmao, since his ELC limit was coming.

LMAO

I actually had to go look this up that it was Kreider. So wait a second, I thought he was a "huge part" of their new found "depth" Who the hell is playing on their bottom/garbage line right now? (dumb question because Tort can't keep a line together for a period never mind over a course of a week).

Rangers = a one team line that will play around 30 minutes per game wich will have them run out of gas in the 1st round, that's if they actually do make it to the postseason all together.

I do remember the talking heads fawning over this kid late last season as if he was (yet another) reason why the Rags were going to become an unstoppable juggernaut for years and years to come.

It's funny, you'd think they had some sort of vested interest in hyping up certain teams over others...

Crawford out with a concussion, listed as day-to-day.

Emery takes over in net. Karlsson called up.
