We've been pretty good against Lehtonen. Bachman was very good in his 1 start (and win) against us.
reassuring numbers, but I feel Lehtonen can steal games almost at Willl. One of my favorite goalies and the only reason (maybe other than Benn) that I would watch a Stars game

That may be so, but the fact remains that Lehtonen has been pretty bad against the Canucks. We seem to have his number for some reason.

I'm worried about us resting on our laurels a bit with Kes coming back, but we have Lehtonen's number bigtime, so I think that wins out.

4-2 Canucks. Kesler looks good on adrenaline and then needs a few games to shake the rust off after tonight.

Canucks currently on the longest winning streak: 6 games.
Interestingly, San Jose and TBay tied for the longest losing streaks at 6 games each.

I hope it continues, but facing an elite (top 5 imo) goalie is always concerning. Their defense has been horrible so far this year which is encouraging and I hope Kesler's return should provide enough of a spark to beat these guys. Our PP could be in for a rebound with the injection of a true finisher which is what I'm most excited for tonight

Better Dallas than STL/CHI... those are two games I really want to win.

If it happens today, we can use the "Ryan Kesler did this" meme as an explanation for the loss.

Wouldn't under-estimate Lehtonen. Him and Benn have been on my fantasy team this year, so I've been watching them closely. Different player in the last two seasons.

I'm pretty excited to see how that line plays. People say that the Sedins may benefit from playing with Kassian, but Kesler may benefit even more. He can play like a raging bull now and have some actual backup. Kassian also has some great vision and playmaking abilities.

Different player or not, Canucks have lit him up over the past 2 seasons.

Kesler will be the on the #1 PP unit with the Sedins right?

Sedin-Sedin-Kesler/Burrows
Edler-Burrows/Kesler

I imagine it will be Burrows in front of the net and Kesler loading up for the one timer along side Edler. At least until Kesler has a few games under his belt.

kesler should play pp time alongside garrison on the points at some point later on. imo. so garrison can tee his big shot off. nobody on this team is a good passer. except the sedins

Seriously, you're putting too much stock in what past Canucks teams have done. We are in the here and now, and right now Lehtonen is playing very well. I wouldn't underestimate him.

He played very well last year too. Just not against us. I agree that past performance is not a good predictor of the future.

Maybe we can toss the game in Dallas but home ice and Kesler's return? We beast it and blow Dallas away.

This is a game i'd be surprised if the Canucks lost.

Would be less shocked if the Canucks lost to the Blues on Sunday... hate the damn Blues @ Rogers arena.

Prolly another impossible hoop to jump through afterwards if it actually happened.

Skill testing question: The square root of the year you were born times the number of the seats in Rogers Arena divided by Jose Charbonneau's number as a Canuck.

You have 10 seconds to answer.....

edit: 41354.8234762 for me.
I'm pretty sure it's an automatic that someone wins the prize (otherwise they wouldn't have it insured). I think the could is because it's not $1,000,000 but rather $50,000 paid out every year for 20 years.

With who we have in net on any given night goaltending is, at worst, a wash for us anyway so mineaswell focus on something else.

It's not quite like that. What happens is that they pay the amount as an annuity, 50K per year I believe. Due to inflation, that translates into about $500,000 in "real" terms so they aren't actually committing that much money.

The "math" questions are a real, legal requirement in lotteries/sweepstakes because winners can't be picked by sheer luck - there has to be a "skill" component, hence the math question. They are bound to find another winner in case the original winner fails the "skill" question so you can see that they don't have an incentive to make up overly complicated questions.

The clause that can really screw up people though, is this one:

Quote:
Only Canadian residents of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northern Ontario over the age of majority according to the laws of the province in which they reside are eligible to win. Employees of Canada Safeway Limited, Promotivate, Rogers Sportsnet, TSN, FAN 960, TEAM 1040, 630CHED radio and Sports Radio 1290, their agents and/or members of their immediate families residing in the same household are not eligible to participate in the Contest or win prizes.
Imagine if you won it all, then told you're ineligible because your teenage kid works as a cashier at a Safeway... oh boy.

Hmmmm... Nedved or Jagr???

Okay, each Sedin scores once and one gets a shut-out, so 5-0 Canucks.

Nedved of course

You're putting too much stock into the Canucks offense not being able to score. We are in the here and now, I wouldn't underestimate this teams offensive depth.

Did I do it right?
