Him or Carkner and I'd be happy. Even Engelland would satisfy me.
Carkner has lost countless fights to Orr but Engelland is probably the best fighter that we could find in a defenseman.

Who care's if he lost ? He also beated the crap out of Lucic twice? What we need is a tough stay at home Dman who will drop them with everyone and will clear the crease.
Carkner is clearly all that.

Pittsburgh has two enforcers, Steve MacIntyre and Derek Engylland.

Carkner resembles Orr in a sense that they are both reckless fighters who don't worry about defence while fighting.

Engelland is slightly smaller but he's a tremendous technical fighter who can play 15 minutes a game.

Therefore, I'd rather have the latter.

I don't really care who I get. The only real downside I see is that he fights less.

No, Lucic beat him both times. The fight this season resulted in Carkner getting dropped.

That's a downside? You prefer penalty box benchwarmer than a guy that can fight and play?

Yeah, not really. Watch it closely and tell me that this fight was lopsided... Both guy's throw at each other and one punch connects this is more luck than actual good fight and the same thing happened in the first bout.(While the first one was a much better fight over all.)

It's not a knock on no one.

Well he fought three times last year.. twice this year... It's not anything bad I admit it. But 3 fights seems really low for me for someone whos in the league for that.

Actually I want to change my vote. Fighting is a foul, right? The league has to treat it as such and not have refs stand aside so that a bare-knuckle boxing match can be folded into a hockey game. It's cheap and terrible marketing to have this in the game. The Habs should declare a strict rejection of this league policy and expect any opposition player who attacks with fists be assessed a 2 min instigator, a 5 for fighting, a game misconduct and a review for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Fighting is way up this season and that sucks. So yeah, I vote "No."

While I enjoy fighting in hockey. I totally hate staged fights and players that are there just because they can fight... Like say Orr or Scott..

But hey for me if Gallagher wants to go at it with Marchand, It's perfectly fine.

Gallagher battles for every inch of ice as it is and that's what I love in the kid!

more fights, the better it is. Even if they are staged. And Lucic beat Carkner 2 in 2. The last one with a tko win.

sorry, Carkner beat Lucic 5551051321564-1. Carkner is now on SuperSaiyan level.Ohh and Parros is a middleweight and Moen is better at fighting than him, remember?

Yes, really. Carkner ate one that put him on his knees. That's a win for Lucic. Milan also outlanded him in the first scrap as well.

You can have two Thornton/Konopka-types and 1 Orr. Or use the Orr/Kassian-type as 13th player. Can we use 21 players on the roster?

What if Lucic ate one thrown by Carkner ? Both had their head down and thrown really offensively it's a damn fist fight where one punch can KO someone it's not boxing.

Engelland is a much better defenseman than Carkner and I'd even put the former before the slow-footed Murray.

According to hockeyfights, Engelland beat the crap out of Orr both times in 2010 while barely losing their fight last month.

I've wanted Engelland for some time, don't see why Pitts would give him up without over payment, though.

He is... But he's also unavailable. They have a crappy D (That's what they say)

Carkner has lost to Lucic twice, once clearly and the other time he was edged out.
