Why the **** did Toews not get a penalty, ****ing homer referees, just favoring the Blackhawks, they're trying to hand it to them.

That was clearly coming from Thornton's pants as he was trying to hug Toews down to the ice...got all over the Captains gear....sissy Joe

Wasn't the right call.

Toews was supposed to get:
2 for cross checking
2 for instigating
2 for unsportsmanlike
10 minute misconduct

Sure. Point is it should have been an instigator and a misconduct.

I've seen him start fights, and he can sure fight for someone that doesn't fight much.

Good, add two for the embellishment and we're good. Whether or not you think they should call the embellishment..rules are the rules. You got a 4 minute power play with our best penalty killer in the locker room.

So if you're mad at someone that wipes out the instigator rule?

Obviously Toews fell on purpose when he realized he was going to get pounded.

Yeah but your best penalty killer should've been in the locker room for 10 minutes extra. That's kind of a big deal.

I think him not fighting initially was a respect thing. Joe can throw them. He's just kind of mild tempered imo. If you get him mad though...

I was watching the game on Gamecentre and it actually happened off the draw. Joe did something to Toews on the faceoffs and he went after him.

Good thing for Toews that Thornton didn't have his ring on during that fight.

Maybe the miscall was because they wrongly gave the Sharks a PP earlier in the game when Burish should've gotten one. I expect makeup call for Hawks for missing that and the Thornton embellishment. Hopefully anyways.

That's what I said right?

Your homerboy said "Who cares if he embellished", which obviously had an effect on the rest of the play. So technically if you guys want to add all these extra calls on Toews, add one to Thornton and it takes care of that extra powerplay.

LOL, when was this? How about the time where Brookbank covered the puck with his hands in the crease? Hawks get all the calls.

Yeah Toews is lucky Thornton didn't really punish him. Reminds me of Lecavalier trying to go after Chara. Toews was a big baby about it though. No idea how he didn't get the instigator on that one.

Cool.

Then it would be

Thornton off for 7 minutes
Toews off for 21

Instead it was
Thornton off for 5
Toews off for 9

I agree...Refs REALLY trying to gift wrap this one for the Sharks...

Hawks fans need to boycott the NHL Ref Union or something...

The refs missed a clear penalty shot in favor of the Sharks. Try again.

That's easy. The ref was going to call the boarding initially. When they realized what happened, they knew they couldn't just call that but they didn't have the guts to make the right call which was 2-2-2-5-10 so they copped out and did 2-2-5 and just tacked on an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. So they essentially said we know he instigated but aren't going to actually call it due to what would happen if they did.

If you honestly think Toews won that fight, you're very sadly mistaken.
