Cogs is so great this year. Night and day. He just had to find his niche.

i guess we'll disagree then.
i thought he looked unmotivated, and unphysical. all he had to do to stay up was bang bodies in the offensive zone while not being a liability defensively.

he failed at being physical and all you have to do to be physical is be motivated and hustle out there

Yes, the Wings are decimated, but that was a quality win

Fasth holds the record for best start for a Ducks goalie, right?

Everytime I watch a Ducks game I get the feeling during 1st and 2nd period that we'll win this no matter what. Great 3rd period.

Best start for any rookie goalie, ever, too.

He had 10 hits in 5 games, a lack of physical play wasn't the problem. He probably should have had more hits--I don't think he was finishing enough of his checks--but a lack of physical play was definitely not the problem. His forechecking wasn't there, but the hitting was.

DSP showed no aggression/physical play, was lazy and really offensively added nothing
Maroon looked nervous scared to make any mistakes but added nothing at all

Staubitz skated hard, throws big hits and will defend teammates his hockey skills suck but the other stuff he adds makes up for it. The 4th line forwards essentially play 5-7 min so who really cares
The other 3 lines are firing on all cylinders and the pk has been great why not physically punish teams as well?

Light the Lamp wohoooooo. I can see wild wing in an empty Honda center using his Sith lighting to light the lamp by himself.

his "hits" were nothing soft turn his back into the opposing player bumps
Physical play was a huge problem for someone who was drafted as a future Adam Deadmarsh

dirk your positions aren't going to hold much water as long as the wins keep piling up, the ducks are a tough team, anytime anyone goes in front of our net someone has to pay the price now

No way you sit Fasth in favor of Hiller with him playing like this. I am sure Hiller will have his chance but come on 7-0. Gotta go with the hot hand

Before Fasth, no Ducks goalie had ever won his first two.

We should care because Palms is down on that line. If this is the case, then Palms needs to follow Etem down in Norfolk. I don't mind Maroon up because the feel on him is he won't be a top 6 in the NHL level. Thus the fourth line would be:

Maroon-Bones-Staubitz.

Beauch and Souray were both +3, now both +13 which would lead the league

BB also managed the minutes very very well, shouldn't be alot of dead legs tomorrow

Wonder if Koivu could be an outsider to Selke if he keeps playing like this. PPG-pace, +12 and often matched against the opposing top line.

Watching the replay on the Red Wings feed... it sure looked like that puck glanced off that Wings player's helmet on Holland's penalty.

Neat win. Even though our first goals were lucky as hell, I felt we looked pretty good early on, as well. Didn't really allow much, and ended up capitalizing on the flukey plays / individual errors instead of the chances we created.

I like Fasth more and more. He sees the play and moves so well. He appears to leave a lot less net open than his height would limit him to. Even when he's deciding to play a little deeper, he's taking away a lot. His rebound control hasn't been a problem, either. He also made a lot of small, but really good decisions with the puck. The only minor thing I'm not thrilled with is that I think he'll get burned on bad angle shots eventually. He's staying relatively far to the inside of the post and it always looks there's a bit of room. But when that's the biggest issue, you're doing a lot of things right. Loving his play.

I'd also like to echo whoever praised Lovejoy. I liked what I was seeing from him. I thought he made a lot of good decisions with the puck, and didn't always make the easiest play available, either. Looked like a fine third-pairing guy tonight.

Well, can't really end without having mentioned Cogliano, but I think all has been said about him.
