Zidane draws many similarities to Maurice Richard. This answers your question.

I had a feeling I would get flamed at least a few times for making this poll -- did I mean it seriously? Not really... I think anyone who's at Zidane's level in his sport has to be above a guy who is not at that level in his sport, which includes Huet. However...

1. I don't care about soccer like I care about hockey

2. Nothing Zidane has ever done has affected my mood for the following several days (like, Huet getting us into the playoffs)

3. Zidane doesn't play for the Habs.

So me thought what the hell, let's start a discussion. And for anyone who thinks a thread like this is useless, we got to see one of the best animated GIFs I've ever seen on these boards because of it, so that's something.

HOCKEY > SOCCER .. HUET > ZIDANE

Better than Pele, Cruijff, Beckenbauer, Platini, Maradona or van Basten ?

Many people will argue on this one...

Can Zidane skate? I'd love to see that move of his on the ice!

Hmm, France has been twice hand-ball world champions since 1995.

In basket-ball, their greatest achievement was the Olympics final in Sydney I believe.

In volley-ball, they're starting to improve and become part of the 10 or so best teams in the world.

In hockey, emm, we used to be in the top 10 or so when USSR was still one country.

We'll start talking about that when Huet has won two Stanley Cups and won 3 Hart Trophies. Not before.

It's like asking : Who's the best goalie of all time, Patrick Roy or André Racicot? I mean, come on...

Football, rugby, Roland-Garros and le Tour de France.

+ the Olympics of course...

As far as playing is concerned, football has the edge, but tennis, martial sports and other team sports are quite strong too.

We do pratice a lot of different sports at school, but I've never played football there for example...

Thierry Henry is more talented than both Huet or Zidane. Not only is he a great athlete, but he also is a very talented actor. He's a very good physical actor and I've never seen anyone play the role of crybaby better than Henry.

Yeah, I realize that after. Let's say I did that phonetically, and badly at that... But we're talking about the same...girl?

Best of his generation doesn't equate to the best player in the last 50 years.

Zidane is one of the best soccer player around the world. He achieved many goals (objectives) during his career.

Huet is the 1st NHL French hockey player

A waaaaaaaaay large difference. Zidane > Huet... Like who's the best between Sébastien Lareau and Mario Lemieux?

Zidane is one of the 4-5 best french sportsmen ever. I'm not even sure Huet is top 100.
