They pass off the "unscripted" angle equally horribly.
The act they put on for the show pretty much forces them to come off as terrible at sales.
They have to pump up items to make it seem like a big deal, so when something good comes in the door and the guy behind the counter becomes visibly excited, it just kills the whole bit.
That's just terrible salesmanship.
It's funny when he gets worked up over comics and toys. Ohhh I gotta have that! Lolzzz. These guys are doing something they love and making a living, kudos to that.

Pawn Stars sucks so I don't know why you'd expect it to get better.

The fact that they sound exactly like they do off the show? Their three year old podcast isn't scripted, nor is the companion podcast.

I think that bit is confirmation bias.

I wasn't talking about the podcast bits.
I understand these shows are all scripted on some level, and the idea is to make it seem as natural as possible.
Though, when some dude comes in with something and the guy behind the counter tells him money isn't a factor, it just isn't believable at all.
Also, in at least one episode, maybe two, someone said something sexual and off-putting to a female customer out of nowhere, obviously a bit he was playing up his character to, and she just brushed it off.
It had the same effect; it kills it for me.

I'm talking about those bits. Obviously things are encouraged, but if you had any concept of Bryan Johnson away from this show (as I did years before), you would know him saying something offputting and sexual to a random is par for the course.

Watched the Season 2 opener. I think the new half hour format works better, than the old hour long episode.

The Fantastic Four wedding with Ming as Sue Richards was hysterical.

The Halloween episode was pretty bad I thought. The whole ghost thing was bad, and the Jersey Devil segment was only slightly better.

Ming was in charge of the store in the last episode. Much better episode than the Halloween one.

Didn't know that Randall from Clerks was based off of Bryan(bearded guy). PRetty cool.

It was funny to see because he just sits there and makes snarky comments to Brian as he's working, like in the movie.

Agreed about Ming. Bryan though is a necessary evil.

I think Bryan is the most entertaining part of the show, the guy is funny as Hell.

I like him but think Ming is functionally retarded, or at least the show is edited to make it appear that way.

I cant wait, I love that show.

Wish they would have kept it on Sunday night, I liked having the 3 shows I like back to back to back.

Walking Dead, Talking Dead, & Comic Book Men.

I really thought Silent Bob was going to destroy Jay.

I know but it was still funny as Hell. Good thing Ming is such a good sport. So far he has dressed as Sue Storm re-enacting the Reed Richard's wedding and now in Wonder Woman Underoos.
