Prediction: Bouliion wins it in the SO

Iron knee...

Am I referring to Bouillon scoring on a slow defense being ironic or is it Andrei Markov related?

Flyers have a terrible D and most of their forwards are slumping.

As usual Briere will own us, prolly a goal or two. I still think our depth will kill them. 3 offensive lines taking advantage of their slow ass D and a 4th line centered by Eller can still create good chances and wear them down.

Still wish Eller would play in the top9.

Habs 5 (Gallagher and Pacioretty are due, Plekanec, Subban, Bourque)
Flyers 2 (Briere x2)

To be honest we still haven't played a full 60min of solid hockey since probably the buffalo game we won 5-1, Trounce by the Leafs, we played well vs. Tampa but collapsed, and pretty average outing vs. Florida (pretty bad team) I would like to see the Habs put in a full 60 vs. Flyers and get this thing rolling again.

Let's not forget that the Panthers are still a professional hockey team that had a very well established defensive game plan vs the habs and they stuck with it all throughout the game until the overtime goal.

I'm not saying we were very good, but i'm saying that the panthers probably came in more prepared than they normally would against other teams, maybe because they wanted to get payback for the previous game or that they saw the canadiens as a good opportunity for the team to build self-confidence.

This team made the playoffs last year they're probably not going to make this year but I wouldn't discard them totally for getting a shot at it.

The trick is to contain their top talent and pass their Ds with high speed.

Either they play it safe and keep their Ds high, which will relieve pressure for our zone exits. Or their Ds commit; which means Plek and Cole should have great opportunities for rushes.

Let's stay disciplined.

The flyers are pretty weak defensively, we seem to be struggling more vs teams that put more emphasis on their D, i.e Toronto, Boston. But I'm afraid of Briere and Giroux @ the bell centre... Habs by 1

There is nothing "opportunist" about passing a rival in the standing. Wrong application of the word.

So true.
Like the OP, I have a bad feeling about this one. And 3/4 of posts in this thread are from people already pumping their chest.
I can hear the boos from the bell center tonight, and feel the suicidal mood in this forum tomorrow

That's pretty much how I see it as well.

To remain 5th, we need to win this one, or at least have 1 point. Toronto/Ottawa game will make one of them get more points than we currently have.

This is an ambush game for the flyers after a tough loss. IF Habs manage to win this, we'll pass Boston and move to 3rd in the conference. Sweet. Totally jinxed the team just now, sorry.

These guys aren't good anymore but last nights loss might be stinging and they want to ease that pain.

Predictions are nothing but vapour. Means nothing. Neither does the lost chance from 10 days ago to overtake the Bruins mean we're going to blow tonight's chance as well. More vapour.

The only thing that counts is our health (good) versus theirs (so-so), our relative talent (Habs are weaker offensively, but stronger defensively) and motivation (big question-mark). Their D isn't good, but it bullies our forechecking into giveaways. If Bourque, Cole and Patches are hungry for some net-crashing, we win.

I suspect Desharnais and Chuckie will have good games tonight. Wonder how Gally will rattle the Flyers

Outside of a few players, this Flyers team is ripe for the picking. Problem is they always seem to show up when we play against them (or maybe it's us who doesn't show up). Either way, I always get worried when playing them. We have been playing better lately but pretty sure that we are gonna get haunted tonight. Gonna say we lose this 3-1. But I have a feeling Eller is gonna have a strong game

I'm quite positive for tonight's game.

BTW, I'm already done with my GDT for tuesday's game, so if noone made one for today I can use mine today instead, no problem. A few minor tweaks and it could be up by noon.

I think Cole and Pacioretty both score tonight and the Habs take this one 3-1 or something along those lines. I think they come out with a lot of jump and confidence tonight coming off that road trip.

Who would have thought that after last weekend we we would saying that with a win tonight we would be in first place...

Would really like to see Pacioretty get on the board tonight.
