The Premier League says its clubs will be punished with a points deduction if they breach new spending controls.
Each team will not be allowed to make a total loss of more than 105m over the next three seasons and must limit their player wage bills from next season.
"If people break the 105m we will look for the top-end ultimate sanction range - a points deduction," said Premier League boss Richard Scudamore.

I hope the kid's mother is taking the photograph and not being whisked off in the back of Giggs' car for a sly session of rumpy-pumpy.

So clubs can make a 104.99 million loss and not get any sanctions, what a joke. I knew this financial fair play would end up to be total bull.

United have managed to shrunk their once massive debt to 366.6M with 66M cash available at year's end: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/manche...120000508.html

Yeah, all is fine and well with their after tax profits of ~17M, it only takes, what 20 years to pay off those debts, provided they stay equally successful over the decades.

No competitive advantage whatsoever over those teams who haven't borrowed an equal amount of money froms banks to pay for their players, they definitely should be allowed to continue to participate in European competitions regardless of the FFP rules.

As opposed to those teams, whose owners actually have the money to operate at this level and don't need to borrow it from the banks.

But then again, it's nothing new that UEFA is in bed with banks and want a piece of money for themselves. Therefore, no debt-free clubs with rich owners can be allowed in their competitions, unless those clubs' sponsors (sponsors, so no-one can question the origin of money) provide the cash for UEFA and their officials.

It's amazing the length of the football governing bodies are willing to go to appear legimate in their neverending quest for money and power.

366.6 million isn't massive?

I didn't know I was mixing with such a bunch of high-flyers on this site.

Compared to what it once was, no. Besides, everyone knows, that it would be wiped clean the moment the club was sold to a new, proper owner but because the Glazers.

Wish we had Sturridge and Coutinho to use in Europa League. The Enrique goal reminded me of how I try to score every goal in video games.

Also, it must be said, Chelsea are idiotic for not realizing that they had the perfect striker to play behind that attacking midfield already at their club.

Borini will probably miss the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder. Sucks.

They all played well. Sad for Borini (and a youth kid Marc Pelosi who broke his leg). But I still have questions on their defensive ability. They had something like 34 attempts to like 4 for Swansea.

Swansea sold the game out.

It was cause some idiot decided to go in two footed on him. From what I've read it seemed deliberate-ish.

Even worse, he shouldn't have even been there. He was called up to the U20's for qualifying and they blocked it so he could play a U19 game vs West Brom????

It was a U21, but yeah I don't get that. He's been very good in a very good U21 team (one loss all season) and was bound to get some PT during this summer's friendlies so it's unfortunate.

They didn't let him go to the youth tournaments because he was added to the Europa League roster (I think) and there was some talk of wanting him to train a bit more with the first teamers.

Meet future Stoke legend Liam O'Neil:

When Pelosi retires, he will realize how lucky he was to have his leg broken by such a classy, hard-working, and humble English gym rat.
