I don't think he retires. Kaberle is still an NHL defensemen and can play bottom pairing minutes. It's just he is not worth near 4.25M. I can see him getting bought out

I don't agree, unless he steps up his game. I honestly barely see him make average minutes in an AHL team.

All it takes is an injury or two. He's not what he used to be, but he's good depth.

He has played 6 games so far. I'm guessing he'll play 14 more.

Would you walk away from 4.5M dollars?

I think he will get bought out at the end of the year. He makes way too much for what he brings.

He can't be bought out this summer. Unless I am mistaken the Habs already used this years buy out on Gomez.

There are 2 compliance buyouts that can be used before the 2013-2014 season.

They can use their last buyout this summer. Bourque is playing really well so Kaberle would be the obvious choice right now.

You don't HAVE to use the compliance buyouts.

But you should if we're talking about dead wood.

Anyway I think Kaber will be dealt before the choice has to be made.

Talk about complete and utter nonsense. He produced at a 40+ point clip with the Habs last season and he'd only get "barely" get "average minutes in an AHL team" as a result?

Listen to yourselves.

Colorado needs dmen, and we have Weber/Kaberle available... I wonder if the team could make a package for O'Reilly?

Now that's optimism. But maybe we can trade Kaberle to Colorado
for a bag of pucks. I know he has value as depth, but not that much.
A late pick, or help for the Bulldogs would be Okay.

Kaberle is pretty much untradeable at this point - unless big money comes back.

Not going to happen.

He's a decent but not great player. He's got an easy 5 years left.

Regardless of shape, he's a spare part right now, like I said a year and half ago.
