Shannahan, why not him?

Rumours are out there saying that Brendan Shannahan is looking for close to 5mil a season. Sure he's getting old but he still did score 40 goals last year.

He'd be an awsome pickup in my mind, he plays 'blackhawk hockey' and would be an awsome leader for all future Hawks. He hits, fights, and scores. HE is a true leader and proved that at the world championship.

Since there is alot of cap room on the Hawks this might be a good guy to overpay and bring in and be a big mentor for the young hawks. We'de have our leader in Aucoin on d to teach the kids, bring in Shanny and let him be the leader of the forwards...

What do you guys think?

He's a dirty, no-good Red Wing. That's why.

We're not in a position to win much of anything this year, with or without Shanahan. Why waste the few bills that we're allowed?

HE'd be a good first liner and great example for the young hawks...

Perhaps a better question is to ask Shanahan, why Chicago?

Exactly what year do you think this is? I don't remember seeing Shanny do any of the things you describe (aka - blackhawk hockey) last year. He did score, but he was playing with some very good skilled players that can get him the puck. Hawks don't have that.

Also - he's going to be LONG gone when the Hawks are competitive. I'd much rather take a chance on a guy that will be more than a band-aid on a huge gaping wound.
