Im curious to see what some of the young guys do with Spezza and Karlsson out. They won't be able to depend on those two for offense, which may drive them to do it themselves and give them confidence in the process.

The rest of the season might be a lot like when the team tanked and traded Fisher. Gives the young guys opportunities that otherwise weren't there. It's where Condra and Greening became NHL regulars . .. maybe it'll happen to someone like Gryba. This team sure could use some muscle on the backend going forward.

Thanks for the laugh, CH, lol.

As for the game, I'm expecting many powerplays to go to the Mighty Maple Leafs. That Craig Anderson will cut himself while trying to make chicken during the first intermission. And that Pauly Mac will break into a soulful rendition of Danny Boy by game's end.

Man this game is going to be so much fun to watch without Karlsson and Spezza playing.

Nice GDT!

Sucks about Karlsson. Really feel for you guys. We're without Lupul, Fratts, and Reimer but that's nowhere near the loss of a guy like Erik (and of course, Spezza... jeez). Just hope he can make a full recovery.

Hoping for a good, spirited game tonight gentlemen.

Cheers!

I'm actually pretty stoked for this game. The season is pretty much over, so now I can sit back and hopefully watch some of our young guys play their hearts out.

Senators had a team meeting to discuss their situation Friday. #Sens
These guys know what their situation is. This is their chance to step up make an impact on the team.

Me too. Pressure is off. Reminds me of when the Sens unloaded all of those UFAs in 2011. Just this time the Sens are still in a playoff spot.

Sit back and watch the internal battle for roster spots next season.

Some Leafs fan thinks it's his birthday and that means the Leafs will win.

It's clearly FQL's birthday, so that means Ottawa will win.

Its his bad ass rock star persona. He's backed by traditional country pushers (as is Miranda Lambert), whereas Taylor Swift is pushed by pop county backers. Its all a politics divide, I'm a voting award show member, so I know the politics.

Regardless, he puts on a hell of a show.

Colt Ford, who is opening for him, is a country rapper. I'm going to say hi to him in a bit!

Edit: a friend co wrote Springsteen by Eric. Still one of my favorite songs.

I hope so too. I was watching and waiting last night until Ron said they'd cover it on tonight's Coach's Corner.

And in other news, other Leaf fans already have their excuses ready in case they lose in that the Leafs are more crippled by injuries than the Senators. In other words, in case the Leafs win, that will prove the eternal superiority of the Leafs over the Senators in that the Leafs gutted out a hard-earned victory, and in case the Leafs lose, it was all due to injuries.

Aren't we doing the same thing?

Of course the main difference is that in our case, it's actually true.
