Stanley Cup winner Dave Andreychuk (most PPG goals ever in NHL history, 5th in number of regular season games played) should go prior anyone listed on the poll.

Seriously? Dave Andreychuck? Who's next after him, Bill Guerin? Pat Verbeek? Might as well tear down the HOF if Big Dave makes it in.

How many other D men have 11 40 point seasons in a row other than Zubov? Plus he had 89 points 2 season before he started this this 11 year trend. He was so underrated it was nauseating to see it every year.
Women players are considered a subcategory. Granato is in for what she did for women's hockey. It is the Hockey Hall of Fame. I still dont see what her induction has to do with Andreychuck.

torn on Zubov. If standards were for dmen what they are for forwards he'd be a no-brainer. But then again guys like Wesley and Foote would have a good shot as well.
Turgeon?! You're the same person arguing that MSL should be in and you don't, at the very least, think Turgeon belongs there? 95/100 long-time hockey writers/players/management/coaches would put Turgeon in ahead of MSL. Either you're too young to remember Turgeon in his prime, or you just don't know hockey.
Turgeon was a DOMINANT player in his prime, and is 31st all-time in points, most of which were accumulated during the dead puck era.
Turgeon has a 5,7 finish in top 10 scoring, how is that dominant compared to what MLS has done?

(On pace to add to that this year as well).
His playoff production is also very good for the era. 63-33-35-68
Marty is tied for the assist lead this year and 4th in points so far as well.

I mean there are more, and then will be more in the coming years.... Even a guy like Marion Hossa has had a better career numbers wise*
Let's forget for a moment that all of these guys played in a higher scoring period.
Let's also forget MLS and his Hart Trophy.
Let's also forget his 1st team all star selection and 3 times for 2nd.
Let's also forget that MLS has lost 1 1/2 seasons to being locked out.
How do they stand up to Marty's top 10 point finishes?
MLS has a 1,2,4,5,6 in points (tied for 4th right now this year)
He has a 4,5 in goals
Assists he has a 1,2,5,7,9 (tied for 1st this year).

I was trying to think of foreign players who played most of their career in Europe not already in---I can't believe that Makarov skipped my mind.
BTW, what do you think about someone like Bobrov? (The KHL has a division named after him.)

Norris voting has a huge reputation element to it and they don't always get it right IMO.

Probably worth considering inducting as a builder being that he was the first real star of Soviet hockey. But as a player, just way too hard to compare to his contemporaries.

you are joking right?
Dave screams compliler
Top 10 in goals 4,9 (thanks Doug Gilmour)
Top 10 in assists Doughnut
Top 10 in points 9th (Doug Gilmour aided)
Dave was never a guy considered a top 20 player in the world ever.
If he wants to get into the HHOF he will need to buy a ticket like the rest of us.

It's really not that hard, he was a guy that feasted on really weak teams.
Here is his breakdown of GP and goals against other countries internationally from the childlovski.net site

Thanks, hadn't seen his breakdown on there before which is surprising since I've used that site quite a few times. Makes all too much sense given that Sweden, Czechoslovakia, Canada, and US were a long way ahead of the Soviets before the mid 60s. And Canada was still miles ahead until the 70s.
Yeah, prettymuch comes down to if one wants to consider Bobrov a builder or not. With that breakdown I'm not sure how it could be justifiable to have him in as a player.
