Tallinder+Tedenby+Josefson

Before I get torn a new one from fellow devils fans hear me out

Tallinder is the 7th defensemen on a very deep team. He said the other day he takes it well sitting but obviously isn't happy about it. Best option would be to trade him for something because Peter Harrold is a more than capable 7th defenseman.

Mattias Tedenby hasn't panned out for us, just doesn't fit our system. He has all the skill sets its just his strength on the puck that seems to be the issue.

Jacob Josefson, with Henrique and Zajac being the No.1 and No.2 respective centers, he is great defensively but doesn't really fit the bill for your typical bottom 6 devils player in terms of grit. Defensively he is great but hasn't really put up great numbers offensively.

What teams could potentially be interested ?

It'd be nice to package those pieces and maybe even more for a player with lower value but could fill a top 6 role.

ya if we package them, some other team can take them and put it all together themselves because the Devils can't be bothered.

Stats watchers:"Josefson, what a pile of ****." Better keep him as your PK specialist.

Tedenby is worth a 6th rounder at best.

Tallinder, maybe a bottom 6 winger.

A bit harsh on Tedenby. Not many 6th rounders end up in the NHL. He can for sure be a bottom 6 guy on a team with needs (e.g. not Vancouver). Further he is young and can develop (into a better bottom 6 guy).

I deeply regret my post, that was classless. Mattias has been severely injured last night and I'm talking **** about him.

Sorry.

Unless his hockey sense magically changes other the next two years, he's not going to cut it as a bottom six forward. His hockey sense both offensively and defensively is seriously lacking.

If he gets his strength up, he can develop into a top six forward who may be a bit sheltered. Lacking both strength and hockey sense, he's a nightmare to watch.

I won't deny his puck-handling and fiestiness, but he needs to develop at least one of the two above. I give him the benefit of the doubt that he's 22 and from Europe, so his lack of strength allowed him to get by in a European game but not in an American one.

People try to compare him to St. Louis, Gionta, Fleury, Gerbe, Ennis etc, but they grew up playing a North American game. They had to be good in the corners and they had to develop their strength.

I have no clue how easy it will be to package these three. Most Devil fans that I talk to and throw around proposals for fun expect a package of the Teddy, Tallinder, JJ (with a possibility of a pick or so) to go for a top six winger. However...is that really possible?

No way. It's quantity not quality. Mostly because Josefson is underachieving at the moment. He might only get better offensively and his defence is already solid.

Buffalo is into a Tallinder x Josefson package. Only snag is that the Devils would have to take two roster players back.

No need to apologise, but 6th rounders are usually not a commodity even in exchange for a weak NHL-player.

I hear you and agree with the assessment of the current player. But there is no need for magic with the development of hockey sense. Many players develop it over time if they are able to learn. If that is the case here I do not know. Strength, well that is easier to achieve if one is not of the lazy type.

Sabres could be interested in Tallinder just due to the fact that he played with Myers his rookie season. I don't know if I'd expect much back though for a d-man making 3.5 that's been riding the pine and has apparently struggled ever since becoming a Devil.

Hawks would probably kick the tires on Josefson, mainly because of how well he played with Marcus Kruger on Djurgardens.

I know that will never happen but I'd do awfully bad things to get Grigorenko under the Devils uniform.

Devils need an agitator, well someone better than Barch or Janssen.

Stafford + Ott for Tallinder + Josefson + Tedenby.

I'd die for that to go down, but I doubt Sabres fans would like it.

Pretty much just from checking on the Devils board ever since Tallinder signed there, you guys have been pretty down on him for quite awhile. And now he is riding the pine, seems to be struggling to me and any outsider looking in for sure.

As for Ott, no shot the Sabres deal him, we traded Derek Roy for him..that's how badly we needed a player like him.

The past year+ Tallinder has been pretty solid. He was very good in the finals after coming back from being out for a couple months. He has actually looked decent this year when he's been in but is a victim of the numbers game. He hasn't been benched for bad play, just the odd man out.

And to the poster earlier, Tedenby definitely is not lazy. He almost tries TOO hard.
