Could Giroux be traded? What's he worth?

If the flyers got the flames 3 core players, they would win the cup.
How does this make us any better? We lose our number 1 centre and replace him with an aging (although still great) winger, who might leave this offseason. A goalie who has been far worse than Bryz (who has been our best player this year). If we did a trade like this it would be to get Iginla to play with Giroux. This trade makes us worse and makes our average age like 10 years older, and we could lose two of the players once this season is over. Surely this was a joke proposal.

This thread shows the HF mentality of "what have you done for me lately". Yes Giroux has struggled, but like I and some other people have said it might be because of injury. He is still a premier player in the league, but just because he isn't putting up 80 points in an abbreviated season coming off of wrist surgery and neck injury this past off season he is tradeable.

Might take the cake as the worst one just because of the blatant disregard of the salary cap.

Flyers would be over the cap by like $20M.

Only player I'd deal Giroux for would be Pietrangelo.

Not even close.

Only intriguing piece is Gardiner and you would have to add multiple valuable assets on top of him.

Haven't really had a chance to watch the Blues or Pietrangelo, but man he's got a good reputation. Is he as good as HF board thinks?

Richards had the C for a few years, Giroux for one month. Pretty big difference.

If Claude Giroux were to be traded, it would be after his current contract expires, not now.

Lol, half the posts are just people saying he won't be traded. no *****...the thread is saying IF he gets traded what could he fetch :

From the Habs I'd offer up Subban + Eller + 2014 1st

Hes a stud. But a shut down 'stud' with potential offensive upside is NOT going to fill your stadium. An offensive juggernaut will.

I can't see the Blues saying no to this deal. Im sure they can find some shut down D to ease the pain

I would hang up the phone if those pieces weren't included.

You want a 90+ point center who made Scott Hartnell a 37 goal scorer? Ante up, or leave the table.
Why don't you tell that to your fellow Rangers fans who wouldn't trade McDonagh for Giroux.

You mean like a guy who's putting up 12 points in 13 game so far?

You clearly don't know anything about Pietrangelo. He's one of the best 3 defensemen in the game right now and the Blues would not move him for Giroux.

You'd be lucky to get Giroux alone for that. Bryzgalov has actually looked like a starting goalie most games this year.

Giroux has more value than DD, Petro is close though.

Flames offer, Glencross, Sven, Brodie and a 1st. Is that even close..

Well the Flyers will never have trouble filling their stadium and St. Louis will have tough time marketing Giroux when his value and rep is at its lowest. But all things being equal, I'd almost always go for the stud D man over the stud forward. I can't speak to Pietrongolo's current level, but he seems like he's on the way to studly classification.
