The guy that couldn't win a Cup with Crosby, Malkin, Hossa, Gonchar, Fluery, etc? Yeah he's perfect.
Also helps when you have the greatest goalie in NHL history on your team for 20 years. I'd like to see where they are in the standings after he retires.
Look at how many rookies started for this team and played well last year. Plus McGinn this year. I don't see how you can say he drafts lousy players. You can't expect every pick to make an impact in the NHL. That's a nice fantasy, but not realistic at all.
Ok GM Extraordinaire tell me, what is the right way to build this team?
I don't understand why you're giving up. This is a young team with loads of potential. You need to have patience. Rome wasn't built in a day.
it's not about giving up, its about being realistic, you are not being realistic, you dont want to hear that homer screwed this team up and how are you surprised anyway? he has made dumb moves in the past especially trading gagne for walker, not drafting a defensemen, trading a first rounder for a bust in eminger, trading for verstegg which was a bust,
ask yourself this question why was LA ok with getting rid of simmonds and schenn, and columbus getting rid of jake if they are so great players? maybe homer is the one that got screwed in those trades, it's not first time he got screwed in trades.
i mean if you are making excuses of those trades then it's obviously you dont want change in direction because you want those players to be good to make up richards and carter, in which they are not those players.

Have you watched the Flyers at all this year? Simmonds has been one of our best fowards. Voracek and Schenn are tied for the team lead in points. I've seen you blast these players before but you have no reason to do so now because they are playing well.
And it is about giving up. If you were being realistic, you would realize that this team is young and has holes that need to be filled. This isn't NHL 13. You can't just go to "Trade Negotiations" and blow up a team whenever you want. Like I said, Rome wasn't built in a day. These things take time.
Oh and you didn't answer my question, probably because you don't have an answer for it. How do you build this team "the right way"? You seem to be an expert so you should know how to.

Kings were ok giving up Simmer and Schenn cause, neither of those players are Mike Richards.
firing Lavy and replacing him with John Paddock would be mind bogglingly stupid.
I think Paddock would be the guy though. Re-evaluate after the season. Don't promote Berube and take off the interim tag in a month because it would essentially be the same thing as Stevens.
So if people think firing Lavy wont make a difference "we would be the same" why make the move? Who is a long term solution? I am not sure there is anyone out there other then Tocchet.

Because they can't make a trade, so Holmgren has to make sure Mount Snider doesn't erupt

I believe we need someone outside the system to help get things moving. MacTavish, Hartley... can't name many other people outside the system.
