As a Flames fan, it's weird to see Robyn Regehr in a Sabres sweater, but this is as weird as Iggy with a Stars jersey. I've seen a pic of Robyn playing for the Avs, preseason, but can't find it

And I know I didn't see Esposito in Blackhawks..

No, not him, the other guy

Ok, last ones for me.. Marty Gelinas is my favourite player, since his Canucks days.. I'm good with Edmonton, Vancouver, Carolina and Calgary, but Florirda and Nashville are weird..

but not as weird as this

and even his Swiss jerseys (Bern here, on the left, I own that jersey)

aren't as odd as this was

Sadly yes. Chris Osgood was injured in 1999 during the playoffs with the Wings at the end of the first round, and deadline acquisition Ranford came in for the second round. He gave up ten goals on 105 shots in the first four games, getting pulled twice. The Wings scored an average of exactly 3 goals per game (total 12) while giving up 13 (average 3.25) during that period. An injured Osgood had to limp back onto the ice for the final two games of the series, but the Wings only scored two goals for him in those two games - both in the final game. Ranford also did not play well, often giving the puck away and allowing bad goals at bad times. It can be argued that if Osgood were healthy, the Wings would have won a third consecutive Stanley Cup. The best argument against that is Patrick Roy's rivalry mindset compared to Osgood; while he stepped his play up in general, there were certain goaltenders he went "beast mode" against. The fact that Roy allowed 15 goals through six games in the first round against San Jose and Mike Vernon (long-time rival), 13 in only four against Detroit and Ranford but then only two vs. Detroit with Osgood, and then he coughs up 23 in six (a GAA of 3.65!) against Dallas and Ed Belfour, another non-rival.

I know I've turned "Ranford" into "Roy"... but I don't think I've ever seen a player whose game has more of that rivalry/stepping it up aspect with regards to others of his position who were considered rivals.

I wouldn't be stunned to hear the same kind of description of G.Howe or M.Richard, but nobody I've seen with my own eyes.

Fellas, don't forget to identify the player by name! Don't assume everyone is familiar with every player and every era of hockey.

I am still in search of former Flyers (twice), Bruins and Oilers forward Ken Linseman in a Leaf uniform...he played all of two games but there must be a picture floating around of him playing for them.

Wendel Clark, Paul Coffey and Basil Mac Rae as Blackhawks, I suppose you could add Orr,Tony McKegney and John Tonelli as odd in a Blackhawks sweater as well.

Jordan in a Washington Bullets jersey? I know he played for the Wizards, but loved their throwbacks

Of course there's:

Orr/Blackhawks
Lafleur/Rangers & Nords
Gretzky/Blues

Those are the weirdest to me, but have already been said...

Kirk Muller as a Panther and Islander are odd to me. NJ, MON, TOR, and DAL are the places I remember him most.

The Golden Jet (Triumph Books, 2010), Bobby Hull's autobiography has lots of photos of himself and Gordie Howe comparing their #9s at reunions. Including one where they swapped sweaters just for a change. I found another such pic already online.

Not sure if it was mentioned already, but:

Rob Ray, with Ottawa (he played only 11 games for them)

Rick Martin (RIP), with Los Angeles (he played only 4 games for them)

Trevor Linden playing for Montreal (117 games)

and the Caps (28 games)

Odd, given that he played 1140 games for Vancouver and 242 in the middle of his career for 3 other teams.

Because his jersey was stolen before gametime.
