You say that yet you are using ONE example of shooting to suggest the opposite.

You nor I know nothing how who has what type of ego and how that player would react to a different role. We are just too far removed to postulate

I think we can all agree that PINKFLOYD would be too stubborn to take a lesser role on the HF forums. His ego would get in the way after his quips and wit diminish.

I dunno what game you're watching. The Habs look great, but the Flyers are a total mess.

Find Link Gaetz in the LNAH...where enforcers go to die. hfboards would crash if they saw some of the crap that goes in that league.

Yeah, no. I've actually used more than just the shooting thing. I have referenced his offensive tendencies that haven't changed. How he runs through his passing options is still pretty much the same.

And I disagree that people are too far removed to postulate about his ego. He's made enough comments over the years to reach a conclusion about it. Yours may be different, that's up to you. I believe otherwise and I believe his ego, the team's enabling for the most part of what he does in general, and his aversion to change that he has displayed over the years is enough evidence for me to reach my conclusion about it.

Thornton to Winnepeg for Byfuglien and Little

Clowe to Toronto for Bozak

Murray to Detroit for Tatar

Havlat Pavelski Marleau
Tatar Couture Bozak
Sheppard Little Wingles
Kennedy Handzus Desjardins

Byfuglien Burns
Boyle Braun
Stuart Vlasic

Niemi

Forget about playing defense and win game 8-7. That's a shake up.

I'm starting to think PF is Marleau. But a disgruntled angry Marleau because the humble god of Sharks hockey (Thornton) is better than Patty in every way and everyone loves and showers him with praise and roses (even other teams) while PF Marleau just gets JR ripping on him and people laughing at his eyebrows.

Sorry Patty you just gotta accept Thornton is better than you'll ever be and move on. Probably should start scoring on those beautiful passes that would make an angel cry in awe more.

Seriously though, I've never seen a star player so hated on his teams own forum like Thornton. Once he retires as a Sharks (which he will because he's the best Shark ever) this team is gonna suck so much.

Tonight, I'd poll for this:

1- Administer a PT test and use results to determine player trades.
2- Keep TMac
3- Dump DW

Tomorrow, who knows... I will be down in the old Gulls territory next week.

Joe Thornton is a bigger egomaniac than Mike Keenan and JR combined.

You wouldn't want to pair Burns with Byfuglien... It would stunt offense too.

What?

Byfuglien is almost a PPG defenseman.

Unless you mean Burns stunts offense, then I'll agree.

How dare you. When Patty gets traded and Thornton retires as a Shark with the Stanley Cup I hope they do a camera zoom in of him laughing during the ceremony at the part where the heavens part to congratulate him right after cutting to a picture of Marleau sitting sadly in the stands. I hope they do the exact same thing during his Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Just so you all feel horrible inside.

haha not gonna lie I loled.
there for sure is a division with the whole Thornton/Marleau thing.
I do personally want to see Marleau as a Shark for life, I am indifferent about Thornton, I appreciate what he has done for this team. He just leaves you wanting more, always, it's very frustrating.

He's already a god amongst children in San Jose with the skillz that kill and the talent and production one would expect from the child of Zeus. What more do you want? Gretzky?

Marleau on the otherhand is just this guy with huge eyebrows and meh talent, compared to Jumbo, who just skates around chillin and **** thinking about getting in on that 3 for 1 deal on oranges at the local farmers market. He's forever #2 to Thornton's #1. Basically robin to Thorton's batman. Krypo the superdog to Thornton's superman. The chewbacca to Thornton's Han Solo.

In a stunning turn of events, Marleau finally finds his guts and asks where Thornton was during the 05-06 playoffs. Thornton responds by saying he can't hear Marleau with his two Stanley Cup rings plugging his ears. Marleau is shellshocked, becomes an old bitter TV analyst, writes an autobiography, and cries on television when the Sharks finally win a Cup in 2032.
