It's funny how Pens fans overrate all their players. Their ridiculous announcer called Lovejoy the best 7th defenceman in the league and he was traded for 5th. Now Tangradi who was supposed to be the centrepiece to every "winger to Pitt" trade gets dumped for a 7th.

Wang to sell Islanders?

If true, that's the best thing to happen to that franchise in a long ass time.

Damn right. Imagine that franchise with an owner that would be willing to spend money? Christ, they only have $29M committed for next season, with Hamonic and Bailey being their biggest RFA's this year.

They also have a pretty impressive pipeline built up (Niederreiter, Strome, Nelson, Reinhart, Donovan, Mayfield, de Haan) that will eventually compliment their current group (Tavares, Bailey, Grabner, Moulson, Okposo, Hamonic).

wow, anyone saw Montreal's 4th goal against the Flyers? Empty net...

Bourque and Voracek race to the puck, Bourque gives a nudge to Voracek's face, they fall and the refs gives the goal to Bourque

NHL

I thought for a moment the singer at the Edmonton game was wearing a Sabres jersey and i was like "oh, she is one of THOSE people."

I agree: waiting until the team has already committed to moving to Brooklyn before selling the team ensures he gets probably 2x as much for the Isles as he would have had he sold them when they were still committed long-term to Uniondale/Nassau/Long Island.

Perfect time to sell: sell the concept of financial stability (a valuable commodity) without actual assurances of financial stability.

Hemsky has such great mits in close. Sucks about the injuries throughout his career. He could have been a perennial all-star imo. I remember watching him play with Hull and just being amazed at the things he could do.

Jamie McGinn was my favourite 67 the years he played here and I knew he'd be an NHLer, but man, I didn't know he'd be this good. He's really underrated. Seems to create something everytime he's on the ice.

The Oilers are just all over the Avs tonight. This team is going to be scary when they solidify their defence a bit. Hall and RNH are just constantly creating chances that aren't getting finished

e: And if the Sens could get a player even close to as good as Hall out of this draft, I wouldn't care one bit if they didn't win a game for the rest of the season

I went to school with Jamie McGinn. I never imagined that anyone from my town would make the NHL. Looks like his brother Tye has been doing alright for Philly.

That was an incredible game, some of the best hockey I've seen in a while, with the exception of the Sens w/ Karlsson of course (trying my hardest not to be a homer).

Well, at least I can see what the Avs mean when they say their blueline is awful right now... No chance we're worse than that team right now.

one of the reasons I like hockey was on display today: McCormick and Glass fighting, Glass got jersied but McCormick lets up and doesnt throw a punch while Glass adjusts the jersey, then resume fighting.

Why does every Oiler trade thread end the same?

All of our players are better than yours so you need to add.

If they are so awesome, how come they are at the bottom again?
