Nah they'll be gone by 7 almost Guarunteed. There's always risers/fallers but this top 6 looks pretty locked up it just looks like who decides what guys.

The draft almost never goes according to the scouting reports though. Usually theirs a guy who falls a few spots and raises a few spots draft day. Wouldn't be shocked to see a guy like Nurse go 6 for example.

Monahan was just ranked 8 by ISS. This draft is so talented I fully expect rises and fallers after Jones/McKinnon/Drouin/Barkov. After that anything can happen imo. Those are the only 4 to me who are 'locked up'.

I still like Lindholm more than Barkov.

But then I also acknowledge most scouts disagree with me.

Maybe but that's a the lowest ranking I've seen Monahan this year. Everything else ranks him 4-6

To be fair I don't think Zadorov belongs that high and have not seen nurse so I won't comment about him.

But you are right. I did not think teams would pass on Grigorenko as last years center depth was meh and he's pretty good but look what happened.

Anyone see the ISS rankings? Ii have always found them to be quite bizzare and they always seem to have euros really high. Nurse and Zadarov ahead of Monohan? For real? And I'm a Nurse guy.

Pass the dope this way please.

Will be thrilled with any one of Drouin, Barkov, Lindholm, or Monahan. Don't think we'll be bad enough to get MacKinnon or Jones though.

Barkov, to me anyways, is the most hot/cold player in that Top 6. I'd be thrilled with them for sure, but I was incredibly disappointed a couple times when I saw him.

With this logic no goals are scored in the NHL.

Lindholm is not as flashy as Drouin or even Mackinnon but he is unbelievable all-around. He can play in any situation and face almost any defensive pair and adjust to them accordingly.

Drouin's skill though is through the roof.

I want one of

Lindholm
Jones
Drouin

The most.

I was very high on Barkov last year and the start of this year but those guys have stepped it up a notch extra, imo.

I still am firm in the belief that Sean Monahan will be a Captain, 65-75 Points in a Year, excellent two-way Center, so I'd love him as well...

Lol, I think he can be that too but I think those guys can be something more. Drouin higher offensive ability which we need and Lindholm offers all that plus physical element.

I'd say Lindholm's physicality is more like "admirable Alfredsson physicality" than punishing physicality. He does not shy away from anything like that and works the boards well and such things, but he's not gonna be a big physical factor at the NHL level.

Oh yes in no way did I mean punishing but it's a bigger factor than what the others offer. Lindholm also drives the net exceptionally well and works real well in close. Like a Sundin impact infront of the net and on the boards. He's more quicker though, imo.

I was really high on Monahan from last year and even watching him this year you can tell being on Ottawa is really hurting him.

I have a hard time deciding who would be better from the top 6 prospects this year, but I really feel like Drouin is the "can't miss" player from this draft. I really do. He is going to be a star in the NHL.

Would be happy with Monahan too, if only because of his connection to the city already and his clear-cut capabilities. That is one of the players that I think will be able to step into the NHL from day 1 of next year and stick with whatever club he plays on.

Can somebody describe Lindholm to me cliff notes style? I remember hearing the name in the WJC's, but I know absolutely nothing about him.

All-around player
Excellent at reading the play
Amazing skater
His hockey sense and IQ are unbelieveable
His work ethic is what defines him, he always, always hustles
Loves to crash the net and is excellent at spotting people there
Plays with an edge
Has soft hands

I've heard comparisons to Forsberg.

Watch this... You'll understand. He is everywhere in all 3 zones and the puck goes through him before every scoring play it seems.

If Seth Jones is available and we don't pick him, I may have an aneurysm.
