Then we'll keep him.

Winnipeg would be asking for Chevys head if he ever made such a terrible deal like this.

That is an absolutely terrible trade for Philly. Simmonds is worth far more than Postma. I like the kid, but... no.

Ya I'd say it's about as lop-sided as the original proposal...

I guess bottom line is we need to trade Kane for Subban just so Montreal and Jets fans can get some peace and quiet.
No thanks, Kane is nice, but would MUCH rather have Subban.

LOL.

Your posts in the Giroux thread and this one have been embarrassing.

If no one "wants him badly enough" then why do we have to say no to so many fans wanting him?

Pls go.

Many subban for couturier proposals were proposed/agreed upon by Habs fans....

Reaching is what the Jets do!
Scheifele was a reach at the time but has done everything the jets have asked of him up to this point. As we see by Huberdeau this year (currently 2nd in Panthers scoring) its not really how quickly you make it to the the NHL that counts. Each prospect has their own path.

As for our Trouba pick this past year at 9th I would suggest we got that right.

Subban's value is far greater than Cout's. Frim team needs perspective the Habs have no need for another centerman while the Flyers are desperate for a dman of Subban's ilk. Huge NO from the Hab's perpesctive!

We'll give you Postma for Couturier, even throw in Wellwood and a 3rd. Horrible trade for philly? Yes. but still 1000 times better then the OP's proposal. What a joke

Still struggling to see the joke here...sure evander kane is a very talented player but he would not help the flyers as much as couturier can on a defensive standpoint. The amount of belligerent homerism occurring in this thread is preposterous. Personally id be more interested in a guy like Tobias Enstrom if the Jet Superfans will "let" us give up Giroux for him...

why don't you check out who is making those proposals (including this one) before you start commenting. very few and far between do you see flyers fans make a proposal shipping him out that's cause we're content with keeping him. and if they are it's never a one for one swap.

That's simply because we didn't know whether Subban would sign or not. Montreal fans were unanimous, Subban is far more valuable than Couturier at this point in time.

I did and most Flyers fans were saying Subban for Couturier was a fair value when it's really not. It's not even close actually. When Couturier will have shown more promise, maybe I'll agree. For now no.

I love how everyone assumes that the forward they picked before Couts had "more offensive upside" while couturier had the best PPG% of anyone in his draft class...

do people not do salary cap research before making these idiotic proposals? even if the deal made sense (which it doesn't for either side) Philly can't afford to take on Kane's caphit. it wouldn't work. you'd need to add at least another 3M or 4M going back to Winnipeg.

Couturier's most frequent opponent last year when he was on the ice (at even strength):

Evgeni Malkin

I sit corrected.

Although, being the 9th forward with time on ice still leaves a large luck factor, considering Malkin was the Pens leader in TOI.
