Landy should play with Staz, those two would just be so good together. Stick Duke, Jones or Palushjhshjwahhjk on the other side and we'd have two really good scoring lines.

I love that Duchene has been training with Crosby in the offseason. I think it's been like that for the past 2 years? I don't see it stopping anytime soon.

Funny thing is if RoR resigned for 2 years, he would probably get to play with Landy and take over the 2nd line role. While Stastny has been quietly effective, he's not producing enough to warrant staying over RoR. Stastny production would be fine if he was playing with a dynamic winger, but he's not so our 2nd line is suffering.

Only a new or impatient hockey fan would've wanted to trade Duchene last season. Landeskog might be the golden new kid on the block but Matt Duchene was and is the best player on the team.

I wonder if he gets team Canada consideration for 2014 if he keeps this up. He's looked better than some of the big names that were there last time.

I always suspected a big comeback year this year...I'm just sad I was wrong about Mueller being a big part f it

He didn't play like a true center and he had a decent sample size of playing mindlessly and very selfishly.

Now he is willing to pass the puck, go into the right areas that a center should, show defensive effort, and use some intelligence in all areas of the ice.

I wanted to trade him but if he's going to play like this, then obviously I was wrong and he's a keeper. Would have been real nice to see O'Reilly play with this version of Duchene.

I don't think Sacco ever saw it as a long term switch but more an attempt to get Duchene away from what he was doing as a center at times last year.
Agree with this post 100%. I don't believe anyone wants/wanted/believed the guy to be a winger rather than a center. Doesn't matter anyway, Mouse21 already decided that it would never happen again, so it won't. End of story.

I never understood letting Mueller go. We wait almost 2 years, then he's actually capable of playing and then we just let him go. Stupid imo.

It's "Plooshy". Not that hard, really.

I liked the post that called him "Pajamas". Plooshy's pretty good, too. I keep wanting to call him Pool-a-shy. Hopefully the guy can make a long term impact and force us all to remember his name.

So, if he had suffered ANOTHER concussion during the season opener against the Wild, would it STILL have been stupid?? Just curious.

The guy played 47 games out of a possible 173. It's not exactly rocket science. You can believe that he's behind all his issues, I see it as only a matter of time before he's out of the lineup. (I hope not for him though)

This season would have been his "last shot", but of course there was risk/money factor.

Read in the paper this morning that he should be considered for Sochi. That being said, Canada is sooo deep down the middle, that he'd have to play wing.

Can we give Duchene an 'A' now? I think he deserves it.

I don't think we need to give him an 'A'. I like his game the way it is and he already looks like a leader without a letter. Might distract him which we don't want.

This would be the season to distract him with the A, if we're tanking.
No reason to wait until next year, and have it distract him then.

Stastny doesnt deserve his A in any way right now. it should be Duchene. it might even spark Stastny. I doubt it though because he doesn't give a ****.

I get the feeling that if he continues to produce and lead the way he is that he could take over the 'A' from Hejduk once he retires.

So your inside the locker room and can vouch 100% that Stastny's not a leader in there and that he doesn't care? I mean that's great, now we don't only have to rely on TPS for some inside info.

Leaders aren't only on the ice.

I totally see Duchene inheriting the A from Hejduk.

If we'd kept him and he'd had more concussion issues, you'd be saying that it was stupid to keep him. There's no win-win situation with him.
