He could. We could pick up an injury, or you never know, he could even get traded, although that's unlikely as Gauthier isn't calling the shots anywhere these days.

He is still quite good, his defence is still probably better than Emelins. It seems like personal bias is keeping him from playing. He will finish his contract with us and then sign with another team for probably 2million.

If we can't trade him for a mid-low pick at the deadline this year he will be bought out and sign (with Colorado is my guess) for like 1.5-2M to play PP and 3rd pairing with a babysitter.

Or his playing is keeping his personal bias

Don't worry about Kaberle not playing. Players are falling like flies all over the league and tonight the Habs got a taste of that.

I'd prefer if he never played another game for us. Whether he retires or not, I don't really care.

If he ends up not playing at all for us, you have to hope that he'll reconsider his options. He could ask for a trade all he wants, only a team looking worst than us might be tempted. Can happen...but not holding my breath.

A team worst than us.. you mean most teams in the league right now? We're 5th in the league..

I think a Komisarek - Kaberle trade makes sense in a somewhat alternate universe. We could use a big, tough RH d man and once upon a time Komisarek was just that.

Why not try it? If it doesn't work out both teams could buy them out, they were probably going to do that anyway. At least this way there's a chance of it working out for one or both teams...

it's...sort of possible

But remember those few good years with Markov. Not saying he can do it, but the possibilities this year if he could, with a chip on his shoulder... It's a gamble I might take.

You sir have a sense of humor.

I can't think of any reason not to. Komiserek is much closer to
what we need, even in a 7th D.

Kaberle eats less free hot dogs in the press box than Komisarek I think, so we're better off with him
