Haven't followed much NHL have you?

You need to keep 23 guys on the roster, even though you can only dress 20 guys each. You need those extra bodies in case of injury, last minute illness and mere competitive balance, guys to push the bottom guys to continue to give it their all game in game out to stay in the lineup.

Every single team in the league does this. The Stanley Cup Champion carried a defenseman last year all season that played just 9 games all season. But he was still there as insurance.

And Wright has been pretty solid actually. Big body that forechecks hard and is VERY good positionally. Does alot of little things right, smart player.

I have to agree, he's been a small upgrade on Glass. Just doesn't hit as much or fight. But overall he's better it seems. He has something to prove.

But still lacks offense, although I don't think as much as Glass. That guy had hands of lead.

I'm assuming that is his wife/girlfriend standing beside him being all docile and not doing anything to diffuse the situation. Out of all the youth sports in Canada, hockey parents take the cake!

There's an article in today's Winnipeg Sun that said local hockey officials have banned him from attending his son's games.

Love the tough guy beaking while clutching his daughter.

Yes, I agree that hockey parents can be idiotic, but good on that dad for standing up to that ***** and doing it in a classy way.

Some of the stuff I seen when playing house league when I was 12 was head shaking. Heck, my team (fort richmond kings 1992) had an hour long discussion on cjob about how rough we were.

I seen the coach from our opposing team jump onto the ice and grab one of my teamates in an attempt to "settle the score". There were groups of parents regularly yelling obscenties at us (12 year olds) over every little physical contact we made. I vow not become a retarded parent like that when my boys start playing organized sports).

IMO this is a perfect example of social media being a great thing. Too many hockey parents seem to think their kids hockey games give them a free pass to behave like complete and utter jackasses.

I'm sure it's not much of a deterrent, but maybe just maybe this will be a cautionary tale to parents behaving like ****** rockets. The guy's name has already leaked out, and I can tell you, I'd toss his resume in the garbage if it came across my desk.

All the credit goes to Gm0ney for introducing me to this site, but I think it might have got lost in the shuffle. Anyway, nothing brings the Jets-related lulz quite like this:

That first YouTube clip of the meteorite was pretty crazy.....the clip caught it well.

Haven't seen one of those before that is a bit intense and would probably get your heart racing if you were in that vehicle

The water main burst on Stafford today.. so no water for the weekend. Feels like I'm in the 1800s having to go outside to some contraption to get water.

Hey everyone,

I am originally from the GTA area and have just moved to Winnipeg. I was wondering what the lacrosse scene is like out here, I played Jra in ontario for 5 years and am looking for a somewhat competitive league to play/coach for? I know its a reach, but the Manitoba lax website is not the greatest and I thought I'd give it a show anyway!

Also, there has been significant talk in NLL circles about TNSE getting a professional lacrosse team, and I'd be curious to see if people think they could be successful out here

cheers

Welcome to Winnipeg, and welcome to the Jets section of HF Gryph!

Sorry, I can't help you on in regards to lacrosse, hopefully someone here can.

The real question is, Jets or Leafs?????? Careful with your answer.

So I keep these on my computer and figured I should make an album of them online. That jersey website that creates these has never created a Jets jersey so I took it upon myself to make them last year. I added new players from this year too.

Use them however you wish.
