I haven't kept up with the prospect info yet, but I thought MacKinnon was the flavor of the year. No?

I think they will be fighting for the 7th or 8th slot but could fall anywhere from 6-10 with the craziness this season will produce. Its going to be a wild ride, like those roller coasters with no chain hill, they just start, WHAM you are going.

MacKinnon has been #1 for about 3 years. As with every draft, people will try to make cases for players they really like, but Mackinnon is #1 unless a team like the Islanders have #1 and feel they need D.

Suck for Seth or Missin for McKinneon. Dumping for Drouin?

I'm no scout, but if I were picking one of the three based on my own eyeballs, Jonathan Drouin is my guy. Probably the most impressive non-drafted player I saw at the WJCs.

the 4 slot limitation on movement was eliminated, was it not? We could finish last with 0 points and end up with the 14th pick in the draft.

The lottery only determines first overall, so if we finished with 0 points, we would have no worse than 2nd overall, depending on whether or not we won the lottery. It goes:

1.Lottery Winner
2. Worst team
3. Second worst team
4. Third worst team

And so on.

Good time for my Negative Nancy act. We will stumble through the season end up 10th and get another mid round pick who will be considered a"safe" pick. Yawn.

I'm thinking the Blues are the best team in the division

us and Chicago battle for 2/3
Detroit being a wildcard having a chance to finish anywhere from 2-5 in the division. Personally I think loosing Lidstrom will hurt a lot.

Columbus will be 4/5. I don't think they are as bad as people assume. I don't think they are "good" and will probably finish last again, but they have more depth now than last year. Plus their young guys got some good experience playing in the AHL.

I think Suter won't impress as expected in his first year.

At best I think we make it to the second round, and at worst missing the playoffs.

I'm afraid they'll struggle (say 4th in the division) with the condensed schedule, but I've been wrong before. So, here's to hoping I'm wrong again.

Hey we won 48 games last season, I say we can win 48 games this season!

But seriously, I think we can win 30+ games. Just have to get out of the gate running, which typically is not what we do.

Lets go, drop the dang puck!

In the first 48 games the Preds were 28-20, .583, translates to 96 pts in an 82 game season.

I don't know why but I just have some negative feelings going into this season. I don't think they're related to how much talent we have or don't have, I just think it's more along the lines of chemistry. I suppose every team would have to deal with that so maybe I'm making too big a deal out of it, but I don't like the fact that there's very little room for error with a condensed schedule.

On the other hand.......this WOULD be a perfect year for us to win the Cup because it's a season a lot of people aren't taking seriously so the irony of us winning and no one caring would make sense.

With that said:

Blues
Hawks
Preds
Wings
Jackets

Us and Detroit tie for 3rd in the division and we have one of our typical 6th or 7th place finishes in the West, play a good team in the playoffs and lose in the first round.

Josi and Spaling will have break out seasons.

Wilson is unable to play for trotz
Bourque comes back from injury and is nearly a PPG player
Suter and the Wild win their division
Our attendance will fall bad thanks to the ignorant folks with the lockout
Josi proves to be a #1 pairing defenseman beside Weber
Trotz still didn't find his neck through the lockout
So far, so good.

Called the injury bug, but the finish is much worse than expected.
