Omark/Filatov
Would Ottawa consider trading the rights to Filatov for the rights to Omark?
Ottawa isn't very deep on the wings and Omark has 65 points in 45 games over in Europe.
Filatov was never really given a chance at the NHL level, and I think Columbus' style did not fit him at all.
Edmonton's run & gun style would very much compliment Filatov and I could see him and Yakupov playing well together.
There isn't much to lose for either team, and both seem to be top 6 or bust players.
I still believe that Omark has NHL talent, but his relationship with the management in Edmonton was horrid.

Filatov would be useless if not in a top 6 role and the last thing Edmonton needs is another small forward

He is 6'0 and 190lbs, that is average not small. Although he doesn't have much of a physical game.

Filatov is a fit kid of average size... unfortunately i think he prefers working out to stare at himself in the mirror as opposed to play hockey.

So we'd be trading one guy unlikely to ever play for us again, for a player who probably won't ever play for us in the first place?
Sure, sign me up. I'm game.
At least this way, we can talk about the Swede who is playing overseas rather than the Russian playing there.

Neither is likely to have an NHL career, but just the same, I'll keep the guy who has the higher upside (as Filatov just needs to get his head on straight, whereas Omark isn't talented enough to be a top 6 in the NHL, and would be useless in a bottom 6 role).

Doesn't seem like either guy will make it in his current team so not a lot to lose and no other teams are lining up to give up anything of value, so I'll give it a sure why not.

Neither player is willing to put in the time in the AHL required to be effective NHL players. Waste of the paper required to complete the transaction.

Omark would be an impact player if he stepped into the Sens lineup today.

That is alot of ********. Omark had 0.47/ppg in Edmonton on the THIRD line.
Omark is well enough talented to rip YOUR team top 6 up.
He is way more talented than Greening(hahaha) and Silfverberg both together.
And your team have Zibanejad on the first line!!!

Your GM must suck for not letting such a talent play on your team.

Now you sound bad.
Silfverberg is a better player than Omark. He has taken time to get going in the NHL but so do a lot of Euro players.
Look at their stats. Silf has out preformed Omark on every other level.

Omark;
First year in NHL 0.47/ppg on the THIRD line.

Silfverberg;
First year in NHL 0.2/ppg on the SECOND line.
Where exactly have Silfverberg outperformed Omark?

He isn't on my team. I just like him and I'm certain that he can compete at a sucky top6 that Ottawa have.

Pavel Datsyuk is also a flashy crap?
http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=8615
He had 0.5/ppg in his first year, on a cup contender team!
Omark had 0.47/ppg in his first year, on the worst team in NHL.
You see what I did there?
