Edmundson scored his 7th goal lst night. He is posting some respectable offensive numbers this year. Hoping he can bring his size and toughness to the next level and offer a little O.

Add Binnington and Tesink to that list as well.

That's 7 guys likely to be added to Peoria's roster next season (8 if Eronen comes over as well and 9 if Wannstrom returns and you want to count him as a newcomer). That's A LOT of new blood. I'm not going to bother trying to guess at a 2013-14 roster as so much is up in the air, especailly when it comes to which AHL vets the keep/add but I think we're about to see the last of some guys like Sonne, Shattock, Nigro, Della Rovere, Chorney, etc. These new guys are coming to take their jobs.

I'll be interested to see what the Blues/Rivs do with McKenna. I'd like to keep him but at the same time, he's likely the odd man out to make room for Binnington.

I see no reason for Lindbohm to come over yet. Let him develop in Finland another year or two IMO. No need to rush a kid into a logjam at D in Peoria when he can come over a year or two from now as a better/more experienced player entering a likely better situation for himself.

I don't see a lot of offensive potential in Edumdson, especially once he transitions to the pro game but he does have a booming shot so he's going to score some points simply from his shot from the point. IMO, Edmundson has the potential to be the shut-down d-man many hoped Ponich would be. Edmundson isn't a Grade-A, can't miss prospect but he's a lot more likely to make it than Ponich ever was IMO. I'll be interested to see how Edmundson transitions to Peoria next season.

It is a shame that Ponich regressed. Hopefully, he can turn it around and at least be a 7th guy and a breather for Reaves to drop'em every once in a while. It seems Shields has passed him up and he isn't exactly Paul Coffey either....ha ha.

I was kind of hoping the blues would look to sign jaden's brother, Rylen Schwartz to a minor league contract this offseason

Eh, maybe. Last I heard, Rylan wanted an NHL/AHL deal this past summer but teams were only willing to offer him AHL only deals. Maybe he'll get better offers this summer. He doesn't have the talent of his brother though and it looks like the Rivs will be pretty full at forward next season so I wouldn't count on them giving him a shot and to be honest, Rylan would probably be better served to go to an organization with less offensive depth than the Blues. If there's one college UFA I'd be interested in though, it would be former Des Moines Buccaneer Ryan Walters. Good mix of skill, two-way play, pest, etc. Seems like a good late bloomer to me. Again though, he'd probably be better served to go to a less deep organization and he'll likely have quite a few suitors...either this summer (he's still a junior) or if he returns for his Sr season, then next summer.

Edmundson has work to do but he offers size and toughness on D, something this Blues team could use. It does look like a changing of the guard in Peoria next year. Out with the prospects that have become suspects and in with a large crop of rookies.

Should be interesting. I'm hoping that Edmundson will pan out as the heir apparent to be Pietros partner.

Keep saying that if I could pick one F/D prospect not currently on the roster to hit his full potential it'd be Edmundson. Even over Rattie or Jaskin (though a Jagr is hard to pass up). Still, a top-pairing physical shutdown LD with late blooming rocket point shot from the left ... that would be amazing.

Parayko picked up an assist saturday night. Pretty impressive to have 2 freshmen defensemen that will have at least 10 points in their freshmen year.

Even if guys like kurker, maceacheren etc... aren't puttin up the points and there stats aren't looking good.... lemme tell you there definitely learning the defensive side of the game and becoming better and more well rounded players. They'll start puttin up more points as sophomores and juniors while this year they play to round out there two way game. Believe there coaches have big plans for them.

Also, a prime example would be Sean Kuraly for the redhawks... He's a tall thin freshman drafted by san jose in the 5th round and if you look at his stats atleast acouple weeks ago you would just gag. he had like 4 or five points and was a -3 or something. Then he goes and plays top minutes in the world juniors and quietly puts up i think a point or two above a PPg. He's learning the defensive side of the game and has been starting to put up more points since the world juniors. struggled yesterday against notre dame tho... it was kinda weird. But anyway i think you guys get my point.
Kuraly's a good player. Kuraly, fellow Red Hawk Blake Coleman and Russian winger Daniil Tarasov (who was signed by San Jose and went straight from the USHL to Worcester) were a ridiculous line for the Indiana Ice in 2010-11.

Coleman actually put up the highest point total in the USHL since the immortal Peter Sejna but apparently he's not quite the same point-producer in college.

Back to the point, all the Blues high end prospects from 2012 that are developing in the States are all raw and will all be on a very slow curve. And like you said, they will all learn the defensive side of the puck, they'll get acclimated to the increased competition, and then their point totals will improve later.

Yup. I'm actually pretty good friends with Blake, lives two doors down from me. But yeah he definitely used his ridiculous strength and speed to his advantage in the USHL. He's startin to play better as of recently tho as is Kuraly.

Nice. I liked Miami to win the CCHA at the beginning of the year. Mostly all of their top players were excellent USHLers. Can you imagine how good that team would be with Tyler Biggs, Ryan Hartman, and Patrick Sieloff?

By the way, does anyone know what the controversy is surrounding Ryan Tesink's trade in the Q? It's prominent enough for the league to put up a brief release about it on the front page of their website.

Biggs needed to go. was sort of an all about myself guy kind of a ****. Connor Murphy originally verbally commited here which would've been insane. murphy- caito, hartman- Spinell- Kennedy- Joyaux/Paulides/ Mooney would be our top six defensemen. I just hope the blues try to sign Austin Czarnik, Cody Murphy, and Matthew Caito when there done here.

I'm telling you everyone in the NHL is gonna pay for passing up Austin Czarnik in the draft. He may be small, but you know the saying "if your that small, then you better be special" believe me he is. I've never seen someone so strong on his skates, and so good at protecting the puck at his size. He uses a long stick and just constantly causes turnovers on the forecheck. He's also been our best penalty killer for two years now. I'm just saying he has way to much t.j. Oshie in him that somebody's gonna give him a shot when he's out of college and i'm really hoping its the blues/ rivermen

Tesink has been out for a while now with a knee injury. Blainville-Boisbriand thinks the injury happened while Tesink was still with Saint John and they were sold damaged goods. Saint John says the injury happened after the trade. Sounds like some grievance must've been filed and now the league commissioner is involved. Sounds like a mess to me.

Edmunson is IMO he probably has at least 2-3 seasons in the AHL. Ponich I thought had a shot at the NHL but he had a injury that seems to have hurt his skating which was never a strong point to begin with so I'm doubting him as an NHLer in the future.

Andronov came over in a surprise move, and has earned at least an actual NHL contract instead of the AHL deal he's playing on. He's still fairly young, has good size, good wheels, and isn't a defensive liability.

I'm told by Dave Eminian via Twitter that, in his estimation, the chances of Wannstrom coming back next year are very good, and if some of the chaff mentioned above is moved out, there's a roster spot open for him without having to screw him around with demotions to Evansville.

I still think it's too soon to give up on Grachev, too,
I'm still holding out hope for Cundari, Fairchild, Della Rovere and of course, Allen. No one else in Peoria seems likely to make it to the NHL.

Maybe McRae. Honestly, though two years ago, when he was playing for the Blues he looked pretty good. I don't get how he has regressed (don't get to see him play). He was one of the best prospects at the prospect tourney 2 years ago. I think being on the 2nd line with struggling linemates in Peioria has not helped. But he wasn't ever a big point producer, even in Jr. Like a ppg pace.
