Explain his lack of offense from last year?

Time to just accept the fact that MR is a 40-50 point center. Time for management to make adjustments to the roster, because counting on #10 to be a scorer is going to lead to a lot of disappointment.

Not a bad player by any stretch, but don't let PP and secondary assists make him look like an effective offensive player, because he isn't anymore. He has been better in a third line role because he is a third line center, lets be happy about that, much more effective than Stoll was when he made the same move down from 2nd to 3rd line.

I really think its time to give TT a chance, Kings desperately need a finisher on the top two lines.

When you think about it Carter, Voynov and Clifford are the only ones even playing up to expectations, Stoll has been OK as well.

Kopitar and Brown are playing far worse than Richards IMO. They are on the top line and doing nothing at all. Not on the PP, not at even strength. Not defensively. Nothing.
Mike Richards spots a beauty -5 and doesn't play the opposition top lines... And no one other then Carter has showed on the PP really...

kings be sucking today....hopefully we come back in the third. We'll need a goal right away.

---the hawks do look dialed in with tons of confidence which the kings cannot match to this point. when the hawks are in tune they are hard to play against.

I think Dean needs to go shopping for a veteran UFA in the off season to stabilize this group if Greene and Mitchell can't make full recoveries. Ellerby looks to be an adequate replacement for Greene. He certainly knocks both Muzzin and Drewiske down a peg on the depth chart.
Agree 100%.

Kings two biggest needs are a second line scorer (center or wing) and a solid veteran #4 type physical defender.

Muzzin has been a huge failure, can't be counted on going forward.

In your opinion, how many points should a second line center have over an 82 game schedule? To me, 50 pts from your second line center in today's NHL would be pretty good...

I'm fine with him being a 50 point center. You're always going to have people scoring less on the Kings than elsewhere. 50 points on the Kings is probably around 65 points on Philly. I'm looking at the effort out there, how can Brown revert back to this? Does he only play the type of hockey this team needs him to when there's a chance he will have to relocate his family? Why does Kopitar go back to being a complete perimeter player?

Muzzin was never ready, Peeps from Manchester were saying this.

It was a bad idea to waive Hickey, Hickey at least moves the puck Quickly.

50 Pts would be good for Stoll - not the guy making 8mio$ this season...

3 of those minus 5 came in one game against Chicago. And it's not going to go up playing with King and Nolan, that's for sure.

Can we start talking about how invisible Brown is? He's had a couple easy tap-in power play goals this year and then...what, exactly?

Forget points. Just watch him on the ice. He's been terrible.

Eddie O - "Kings have to get the next goal. If they want to get a point out of this game they have to get the next goal."

That's why they pay him the big bucks, folks. Astute.

I think you should take a look around the league at the best teams from last year and see where their offensive point totals were at. This isn't 1993 anymore. 50 points from your second line center is pretty damn good.

For a guy who plays on the #1 PP unit I don't think MR has provided nearly the offense that was expected of him when the Kings made the trade.

I think with the way the Kings are built and they way they draft, Dean expected MR to be a 60-70 point center when he traded for him.

I think Kings want that 60-70 type guy, and Carter is that, if not more. The problem is Carter moving from wing to center has created the same hole on the wing that we had before we traded for him. So now Dean needs to go out and get another Carter type winger or a second line center.

Brown is a streaky player, Always has been. He will have a month here that ever puck will go in, he will hit everything in sight ETC ETC.

It's who Brown is, No one should expect the guy to be different.
