This thread could have been bumped during their last game, or the game before that, or the game before that. But once again, no one mentioned or said they expected them to win this game, only you.
It would have been stupid to bump it during those games (if you were gonna post in a negative fashion)....the Kings dominated their last 3 games.....

So it would be stupid to show that they are turning it around and are going to make the playoffs? Or do you assume this thread is a bash the LA Kings thread?
They have a decent chance to repeat as the 8th seed in the West, yes... though even that will be challenge at this point.

These are fairly big exaggerations. They never led against and lost in regulation to a team that was playing its 3rd game in 4 days (Red Wings), soundly beat a team that had lost 5 in a row and had been playing heartless hockey (Blues) and hung on by their fingernails to barely beat the worst team in the West (Blue Jackets). Their play was definitely improved over their first 9 or so games of the season, but was a far cry from their Cup form and barely even playoff caliber. If they were playing like you'd expect, they'd be doing to teams what Chicago has been doing, but Chicago is doing it to them for the 2nd time this season. That should tell you how far under the bar LA is playing right now.

The Kings played great during the playoffs last year, and deserved to win.
However, they aren't a great team. They are a good team that got hot at the right time, getting favorable match ups and lights out goaltending along the way.
The truth is that they are a borderline playoff team. They should be a little higher in the standings than they are currently, but not by much.

kings fans keep clinging to this, but the Canucks were playing horribly even with Sedin and the Coyotes were a pretty average team. 6th in the conference in points, and closer to 8th than 5th.

Boo hoo. When the Canucks win the Cup everyone can shortchange them.

Well that average team beat Chicago and Nashville so scratch them off the list, St. Louis beat San Jose, scratch them both off the list, took out the Canucks, you know after that lets just scratch off the whole western conference and label them as weak.

Really? I thought the Kings by far had the toughest series opponents. Who could they have played that would've been better?

Our bogey team is Chicago, so clearly them
Besides that it's just a bunch of sour grapes complaining. In a few years nobody will care who was hurt on the other teams, they will see the NW Division, Central, and Pacific Division champs all beaten and unable to win a home game against the Kings.
The Kings are not going to repeat, but that doesn't discredit what happened last season one iota.
I feel like Kings fans/fans around the league put 110% too much stock into Quick's insane playoffs. He wasn't/won't be the same goalie he was during those playoffs consistently - not this year, not 5 years from now.
And that is why the Kings won't repeat, nevermind their crappy start.

Quick was better in the regular season than he was in the playoffs.
Last Spring, the Kings faced strong competition that wasn't quite as strong as it could've been, because of a few injuries. They weren't at all "favorable matchups," but they also weren't exactly teams at full strength. For 9 months, though, their fans haven't wanted to hear the injury "excuse." OK, but it's odd, then, to hear them using that very thing to explain their own team's struggles now. Yes, it is a factor, but so, too, was it a factor last Spring. It's not very consistent to downplay the health and luck factor when things are going well for you, then turn around and point to it when things aren't. It should either be allowed to be an excuse for all teams or not an excuse for any team.
The Kings will be lucky to even make the playoffs this year. They're not a good team. Got very lucky, and got on a hot streak in the playoffs. Even the Blue Jackets go on hot streaks. Barely made the playoffs with a healthy team last year, and will not make it this year.
