I'd assume it would be good news otherwise they probably wouldn't be promoting it on their site. My guess would be that they resigned him for another 2 years.....

My first thought was that he had signed an extension but it says:
Quote:
Check back to philadelphiaflyers.com later this evening for breaking news on Flyers center Peter Forsberg and his medical status following an appointment this afternoon with Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte, North Carolina
My guess is that they wont do surgery on the other foot = far earlier return.
I dont think they would promote bad news this way.

that's the only reason why I'd guess it was something bigger. I know there have been talks about signing him to another deal.

Forsberg won't need second surgery

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

By CHUCK GORMLEY
Courier-Post Staff

Flyers star center Peter Forsberg learned today that he will not require reconstructive surgery on his left foot.
The Flyers have scheduled a 5 p.m. conference call to map out Forsberg's rehabilitation schedule.
Forsberg originally was expected to be sidelined until the beginning of January after having his right foot repaired in a surgery on May 15.
With no need for a second surgery, it is possible Forsberg could return to the Flyers' lineup as early as November.

well if true, this news definitly makes me feel better after hearing about Primeau. That said I do hope that this is not a panic move by the Flyers and Forsberg after learning of the Primeau news.

This is truly good news if he can return early and avoid the injury bug for the rest of the season.

i doubt Primeau has much affect on Forsberg making decisions about what to do with his feet... this move was clearly one that would help prolong his career/improve his life. what i find interesting is: what has changed to make the other foot suddenly okay? i do find that odd.

If his foot/ankle doesn't require surgery, is he still prone to injury? I'd rather have him have surgery if it means less injuries down the road.

this is what I am asking. maybe I am wrong speculating it, but I was just wondering, does anyone find this odd that this is story breaks the same day we learn about Primeau? Maybe its just a considence.

I know that there was a report somewhere that said his one foot wasn't as bad as the other foot, so if this is true that he won't need the second surgery, this is the best news that this team has had so far this offseason. Very good news indeed......

I'm afraid that they are rushing Forsberg, with Primeau almost definitely out now...but then again, we have centers better than Primeau, so maybe we are just really ****ing lucky. RETIRE KEITH, GIVE US THE $3.42M/yr WE NEED!!! Then sign Samsonov or Peca, get Downie up and BRING HOME LORD STANLEY!!!!!!!!!!
