Can someone who has seen Harri Pesonen playing tell how has he been progressing with Albany?
When I saw him before the lockout ended, he was playing pretty well in Albany. He was almost like their utility forward. He was on PP, he played some PK, and just a solid all-around. He was playing a good two-way game with some grittiness alongside Josefson, whose now on the NHL roster. I don't sense anything special to his game, he's just a speedy and gritty two-way forward who can almost play any role.
In Albany, he was playing a top six role, even when the NHLers were there, so he's definitely playing well. It seems like the coach down there likes and trusts him. I think he might top out as a third liner in the NHL almost like a Halischuk kind of role.
Apparently Tedenby got cut by a skate on his face tonight and it required 50 stitches.
50 ??? Try 130
Todd Cordell @ToddCordell
Wow. Kid can't catch a break RT @unchoehne2306: Tedenby took a skate to the face in Glens Falls tonight and had 133 stitches
Update :
Tracey Lake @trace_1114
Tedenby update: took a skate to the face. At least 50 stitches to close the cut. Luckily the hospital is 2 blocks from the GFCC.

My bad, I just re-read my post. It sounded hostile. Didnt mean it like that
The more I watch him, the more I really like McKelvie.
I don't know if he has any offensive upside, but he is more of their fighter, but he's actually a really solid player too, both offensively and defensively.
He pushed his way onto pretty much a regular spot on the Albany Devils pre-lockout as well.
I can imagine the baby devils plays always the old player how the young player be better if they dont play .they play on the forth line or not ,...,we dont win and its not whit 4 or5 min every game will be better.....,see the age of our players ...,do you thihk they play at some other level one day....i dont undrestand what is good for the young guy and how he can be better ifthey dont play

"I can imagine why the Baby Devils always play the veteran over the young player, because the young player still has to learn how to play. The young players play on the fourth line or not at all. The team does not win and the young players will not get better with only 4 or 5 minutes a game. Look at the age of the players, do you think [the older players] will ever play in the NHL? I don't understand what is good about not playing for the young guys."
To answer your question, I believe that the philosophy of the Albany Devils is to use the best players available. While the veterans may not be as skilled as some of the younger players, they are responsible players, and that is what Kowalsky is looking for. Kowalsky will not give an irresponsible, skilled player a position over a responsible, unskilled player.
