Well if you can figure this one out, have fun!

Coyotes Introduce GOALden Ticket Package
Quote:
By purchasing the first ticket package for $100, a fan will receive five (5) goals on their GOALden Ticket. Beginning on March 9 versus the Dallas Stars, fans will be able to see up to 10 Coyotes home games until the team gives up five (5) goals at Jobing.com Arena. Once that happens, the GOALden Ticket is void.

The second ticket package provides the fan with 25 goals on their GOALden Ticket for the price of $250. Beginning on March 9 versus the Dallas Stars, fans will have an opportunity to attend up to 10 Coyotes home games until the team gives up 25 goals at Jobing.com Arena. Once this occurs, the GOALden Ticket is void.

I should add that if you are able to make all 10 games, then the $250 deal comes out to be around $30 a game. I figured 3 goals are given up a game so you can get to about 8-9 games before 25 goals are scored on Smith.

What's there to figure out? It's similar to the "We win, you win" promo they ran last year. If the team does well, you get to attend extra games. If the team does poorly, you're still only out $100 or $250 for a lower bowl seat. It's basically a gamble.

So if you bought the $100, and Barbs gives up 8 in a period, you lose your ticket. You just paid a 25% premium on the lower bowl price. The EV of the ticket is actually 75x10, or $750. The $250 ticket is your best bet to actually get full value. It's highly likely that the team does well enough to get you all 10 games.

Just some creative pricing linked to the performance of the team. Actually a novel way to get people to actively root for the team and invest in the outcome.

A challenge to Smith to let in 25 goals in one night to save the franchise money. ..

If that's how the program is setup then it's poorly written. I took it as an incentive to get your tickets now or the price was going to go up. I.E. if you buy the package for the final ten games before the Coyotes give up 5 goals, then you pay $100 per person. If you wait until the Coyotes give up 25 goals then you pay $250 per person.

If it is in fact that you might pay $100 to go to a single game then that's basically gambling and I'm not sure that they can legally do that. They can't really charge you for the tickets and then charge you again later if the team doesn't meet a threshold.

The best promotion ever was when the Rattlers did their if we don't get into the playoffs then your season tickets will be refunded. What the Coyotes are doing is not gambling as a service is being rendered. And as others have pointed out, it isn't that far off from their buy one game and get a playoff ticket promotion for the last few years.

The more I think about this, the more I appreciate the promotion. I don't think that many people will do it but it is creating a lot of buzz....and that is all a promotion can hope to do.

I already asked a STH to get me a ticket for tomorrow, but would I be able to get a single if that falls through, or are you looking to get money for both?

I want to sell both together unless there are 2 people wanting a single.

EDIT: they're sold.

Aw man, sucks. Good seats too, 7 rows behind the net. You know, not to rub it in or anything.

Similar post to awfulwaffle last page:

I'm a STH and can get an extra ticket (although only a single) to any game for $20, Monday games for $15. They're upper bowl.

You may or may not have to sit next to me.

Hockey is the fastest paced of all major sports, because its players rush to complete the game before the ice melts into vinegar. Enjoy the acidic thrill of competition with this GrouponLive deal to see the Phoenix Coyotes face off against the Anaheim Ducks on Monday, March 4, at 7 p.m. at Jobing.com Arena.
Choose Between Two Options

1. $20 for one G-Pass for upper-level seating in sections 203, 205–213, 218–226, or 228–229 (a $40 value)
2. $50 for one G-Pass for lower-level end seating in sections 102–110 or 113–121 (a $75 value), plus a postgame slap shot on the ice ($25 for the postgame shot; a $100 total value)

I'm looking for 5 tickets to the Canucks game on March 21 for Coyotes' loving Canadians (no lie).

Is it better to try to go through a ticket rep or Ticketmaster/Stub Hub?

Stubhub is going to going to be tough to get 5 seats together, and I doubt you'll get a good discount anyway since Canucks usually games sell out.

I've never been able to get a group discount for less than 10 tickets, but I guess it's worth a try.

I would say ticketmaster unless you hold out until a few days before to see in stub goes under their prices.
