I was expecting the hit to look worse than it did, but really it's a standard hockey play. His face hits the glass, yes it's a hit from behind, but it wasn't a violent follow through or anything. Just a really unfortunate accident.

Hope Wade is okay, really hate to see guys get hurt like that.

The Springfield Falcons have a revised statement from the family of Wade MacLeod. It is as follows:
"A CT scan performed on Wade resulted in discovery of a benign mass. He'll undergo further examination to determine appropriate treatment. We appreciate the respect of Wade's privacy at this time."

Scary situation Wade is in. The seizure was a horrible thing to witness, but he is lucky that it led to the mass being detected. Never ever would wish any injury on a player and I have sent my prayers to Wade already. To me, Wade playing hockey is not a thought, I hope he can have a long, healthy life.

just noticed Springfield Coach Brad Larsen a guest on today's MvsW show. I'll listen to it on my way home.

Just some bullet points on the conversation.

Talked some about Wade's situation, and the decision to call the game.

How good it is to see players like Calvert and Atkinson do well with the Jackets.

What a great captain Ryan Craig is, and how he's mentoring the CBJ prospects.

What it was like to play in the playoffs in Atlanta.

Played for Todd MacLellan in junior, what he learned from him about being a coach, and that he doesn't model himself after any coach in particular, but that he tries to borrow the best ideas from them all, and forge his own identity.

Good interview overall, but Wysh was not at his usual studio, and there was a delay in his line, and he was talking all over Merrick and Brad Larsen.

I'm interested in how Larsen's career goes from here on out. He seems to have done well for us, I hope he gets an opportunity in the future in some capacity.

I remember on the Dispatch podcasts that Larsen is seen as a hot HC candidate of the future around the NHL. Portzline suggested that we might let Richards and his staff serve out their contracts (This, and next year) and then Larsen comes up to coach the CBJ.

IMO, there is no way Richards should be the HC of the Blue Jackets next year.

One day he could be a player, hopefully Jam works on whatever they told him to work on to make it big in the NHL.

Great week-end for the Falcons...8 out of a possible 8 points and tied for first in the AHL with less games played. They keep rolling along with a real "team" concept...Larsen has done a great job with these guys.

Saw the Icemen play in Toledo Saturday Night.

Not pretty. Lost 7-1. Would've been worse except:

a) the Icemen kept it close through 1 by slowing the game down/playing chippier

b) the Walleye had mercy and let up a bit towards the end

Falcons were on the road this weekend for 2 games. The Falcons lost both games, going 0-2. I cannot comment much as I was not on the road to see the games. I know, I am slacking. Falcons are on the road Tuesday ( I will be there) and have a home and home Friday & Sat with the Bruins with a road game Sunday in Hartford (I'll be there as well).
