I'm not sure if I ever seen a player as unappreciated as Milan Michalek

Guess all I can do is show vids

Those videos are empty, not playing. Much like the real Michalek.

He's awesome with Spezza.

There are some valid reasons to at least explore the idea of moving Michalek:

- His 35 goals last year came on the strength of a career-high 16.5 SH%. His career average is 12.7%, which would have netted him 27 goals last year.

- He's only averaged 69 games per season in 3 years here and is hurt again.

- Next year will be his age-29 season, and players typically have their best years behind them at that age.

- He'll be a UFA after next season. Joffrey Lupul just signed for 5 @ 5.25 for his age 30-34 seasons, and Michalek will be entering his age-30 season as a UFA. Are we prepared to pay him Lupul money for his 30-34 seasons? Because that's probably what he'll cost if he has a good year next year.

For a lot of reasons, cashing out on Michalek if he comes back and finishes strong is a fairly attractive option.

I didn't know what order it was supposed to be, so I just chose one. I figured people could figure it out.

I thought it was english vs french thing....

In english it's February 13th but in french it's "le 13 Fevrier"

I'm hearing he wants to have his knee operated on. Going to see a specialist and then make a decision. Likely out for the year.

Murray: Well, you might as well have it done now, Milo, nobody else is playing this year.

At this point it doesn't matter anyway, better now than later in the summer. He has the time to heal properly and be healthy for training camp .

wow just wow

Are we tanking for real? It seems like everyone who has problems are being told "might as well take the rest of this season, get the opration and heal properly"

Look what we're missing in terms of production from last year :

RED = INJURIES
BLUE = GONE

Jason Spezza 80 34 50 84
Erik Karlsson 81 19 59 78
Milan Michalek 77 35 25 60

Daniel Alfredsson 75 27 32 59
Nick Foligno 82 15 32 47
Colin Greening 82 17 20 37
Sergei Gonchar 74 5 32 37
Filip Kuba 73 6 26 32
Kyle Turris 49 12 17 29
Chris Neil 72 13 15 28
Zack Smith 81 14 12 26
Erik Condra 81 8 17 25
Chris Phillips 80 5 14 19
Jared Cowen 82 5 12 17
Bobby Butler 56 6 10 16
Kaspars Daugavins 65 5 6 11

I'm wondering what's ALFIE motivation at this point? Hopefully he wants to teach the young guys, particulary Zbad and Silf

Dont spout off with stuff like this without a link.

I'm not sure if you are being serious or being a floppy dong

Honestly at this point if I'm Murray I tell all the players to get any surgeries out of the way NOW, so that they can be ready to go next year. The last thing we need is 2-3 other players needing season ending surgery next year to fix chronic issues they knew about today.

Is Michalek out for the year? I got him in my hockey pool and can only make one more trade this year

Do not believe that until you hear a real confirmation.

It does sound like somethings up. They said on Team 1200 that here was swelling on the knee and it would be reassessed this week.
