We could seriously be up 5-0 right now if Rinne was in and we could bury a damn scoring chance.

Yeah no offense to Avs fans, but game could easily be 4-1. The second goal on Mason was just a good screen / tip; couldnt tell if it was tipped at the bar.

How quickly Rinne's softie the other night against Chicago ... or his game at Phoenix is forgotten when Mason has a slow start.

Color me not worried at all. We are gonna score more goals. Mason will tighten up. So close to tying it up at the end of the 1st there. Preds should win this. Varlamov is giving up juicy rebounds. Hornqvist will be just waiting for one of those.

Lots of gloom and doom about our scoring and Mason and I don't see it.

Zanon has saved 2 goals for the Avs that most any other defenseman would give up. Nearly had that chance at the end. Could have scored 4 that period easily.

Mason had a weird bounce and a screened shot that happens all the time to any goaltender.

If we keep this play up, Colorado might start faltering and we could grab a lead.

My general rule of thumb is that ANY goal that goes through a goalie, with very few exceptions, is a bad one. If they make a good shot that goes around you, fine, but anything 5-6-7 hole is usally weak. If Mason couldn't see the shot, his first priority should be locking up all the holes and making the shooter hit a corner. Even on a tip, 5 hole needs to stay shut. Not a terrible goal, but not a good one.

If we keep that effort up for 40 more minutes, we win.

The only goalies I'd take C. Mason over is Joey McDonald, Leland Irving Steve Mason and perhaps Richard Bachmann.

Those 2 first goals were soft, especially the first one.

I'd call the first goal unlucky, not soft.

3 shutouts in 5 games makes those forgotten as they should. if our offense had any ability to bury chances, we would be on a high right now after beating anaheim

Changed assists on SK goal. Took away from Blum, ( who took initial shot ), Smith gets one for it hitting him. Take em any way he can get em.
Glad to see you guys get a goal, keep it going

So ... you come on our message board game day thread and bash our backup goalie.

Back off bucko. We happen to like our backup goalie and don't need people like you coming on our boards trashing our players, especially when you are a fan of another team altogether.

So - troll go away.

Yet Mason still had a better save percentage and GAA than Rinne coming into today's play.

Even if Mason let in 5 bad goals every game, he still has the best commentary from the bench... and the beard.

Sorry I'm just a sore loser, got money on the Preds. Yes I think Mason sucks, but no need to bash it in your face. Lets hope the Preds win this one.

First goal against was terribly unlucky, not soft. How can anyone not agree with that?

smaller sample size.. lot smaller. rinne rode out the rough start and his stats showed. mason has played 2 games.
