This is so true....

but at the same time its hard to ignore three straight 30 goal seasons

The way I see it is that if you have a pylon that your #1 C can consistently bank 35 goals in off of, you should probably keep that pylon.

Right, what position prospect wise would you want.

Wow...why? Is this the result of the loss to the flyers today. If so I wouldn't worry about it. The islanders are a much better team then the one that showed up today, I'm sure I don't have to tell you that. The flyers have been playing like absolute dog **** for a while now w/ a couple good games in between. Giroux pretty much called out the whole team and it resulted in their best effort of the season. That combined w/ the fact that the islanders didn't show up today made things look much worse. I would keep the young guys (more then you said you'd want to keep). though moving streit and a few others makes sense. No reason to blow it all up, just my opinion

Oh no doubt he's established. He was established when he was waived IMHO.

Free wallet for you guys for sure.

Sometimes guys end up on the scrap heap and then are flipped later for something tangible, we had that happen with Dom Moore, flipped him for a second.

And then he got flipped for seconds every year for the rest of his career.

What about a 2nd? and he provides great leadership and depending on his success he may want to stay.

Like a two way top pairing defenseman. Excellent defensively, good in transition, decent on offense. Brightest spot for the caps aside from Ribeiro but that's not saying much.

He's missed the last game with injury but he's day to day as far as GMGM is willing to tell people, though persisting injuries are a concern.

If they would have won 7-0 all their players would be worth 1sts +

ride this out. Isles are a much better team now than last season, with a deep prospect pool

I dont care if it was the 81 islanders or the 85 Oilers...This team more often than not has no damn pulse. They need to get some real players in here and they need a change.
Te theme of this team and franchise is 1 step foward and 2 steps back...This team is way too inconsistant. and its not really blowing it up..Im talking the lower tier guys and if need be the Okposo's of the team if the deal makes sense

Seems pointless. Grabner is signed for 3 more years, and the odds are that a 2nd won't be as good as he is.

But if you could replace with a traffic cone that gets 45 goals you do it and I think that a good player ala: Nash, Hossa, Sharp, Carter etc would get 40+ goals feeding off JT but I do get your point

The thng about Grabner is that even when he's not scoring, with his reach and skating he's a teriffic penalty killer which adds to the value

Trade a few players for picks and draft Barkov for the #2C

The prospect pool is already very strong there time will come soon

I know. It just makes us wonder as Islander fans what a talented player could do next to JT

Current Roster players only.

untouchables- Tavares and Hamonic

Close to untouchable- Matt Martin

Rather not trade- Cizikas,Moulson.and Bailey

Everyone else must go!!!

We got rentals,we got signed players, and we got depth guys...

Make your offers...
JMO, I would make Grabner untouchable. If not, Pittsburgh needs him.

Well, it all kind of depends on which Grabner you're talking about: the one that doesn't care (last year) or the 20 goal scorer?

Not everyone wants to. I mean, the way the team looks right now without him is painful. I think he's a good candidate for a Burns type trade where we get some high end depth for him and reallocate salary. Coupled with us probably tanking and this being a year full of UFAs I think it's a pragmatic move. The idea is that Orlov can step up as a PMD and we get a solid UFA D and the defense can survive his loss as a result.

Alzner Carlson
?????? Orlov
MacDonald Kundratek
(Jones?)

Also our crappy ice and medical staff are gonna wreck him if he stays. How's the ice in Nassau?
