It is unknown what the Isles have in Bailey right now. He is a good penalty killer and responsible defensively. Willing to hit or take a hit to make a play. He is a 3rd liner right now.

He showed flashes at the end of last year, he had 16 points in 15 games in March after moving to wing. His first game back from injury this year he had 7 shots in under 13 minutes. Had an assist and 3 shots the next. But he has only 3 shots in his last 3 games with no points. He has been playing with Okposo and either Nielsen or Aucoin.

There is question right now as to whether he just doesn't have the skill to be a top-6 forward or whether he just hasn't gotten the opportunity to play with skilled players. I would love to see him on Tavares' wing for a while to see how he does (and because I think he is responsible enough defensively to take some pressure off JT).

The idea is that Orlov can step up as a PMD and we get a solid UFA D and the defense can survive his loss as a result.

Alzner Carlson
?????? Orlov
MacDonald Kundratek
(Jones?)

Also our crappy ice and medical staff are gonna wreck him if he stays. How's the ice in Nassau?
Probablly one of the worst in the league...

Whats his salary and Term?

Current Roster players only.

Close to untouchable- Matt Martin
Is he still really close to untouchable as his developement seems to have stopped a bit. At least his offensive numbers haven't developed as expected or at least as hoped.

How about Louis Leblanc and a 2nd round pick for him?

the reason is he plays Hard and with heart all the time. Hes a very good Penalty killer. Very good fighter.Great Checker. He also becoming very discipline.

His offense is very underated imo. Hes not generally put in situations to score but he def has touch for the back of the net...i would be shock if he became a 15 goal scorer while still doing all the other things he does...

He is a fan favorite as well but If you told me that Martin was needed as a part of a deal to get the right player, I would pull the triger

Possibly especially since he's a right-handed shot, which we are lacking.

But what do you think about the proposal? Leblanc and a 2nd for Matt Martin? The Habs could also offer Lars Eller but than the Islanders would have to add.

Matt Martin is close to untouchable?

Is it because he brings Sydney Esiason into the Coliseum?

168 games, 31 points = untouchable. ****ing please.

I don't think he would fetch that with the way he's playing right now.

Yeah, I really like Matt Martin, but he's the farthest thing from untouchable.

On the current roster; Tavares, Hamonic, and Grabner would be the only ones I label "untouchable." I wouldn't want to see Nielsen, Ullstrom, or Cizikas traded, but in the right deal I wouldn't mind it.

I can see Detroit sending a Mursak to the Isles for Visnovsky. The Rangers make a lot of sense too. Not sure of the whole Isles/Rags rivalry coming into play on that but he'll obviously play a role in talks this season. Detroit desperately needs to settle their blueline down and he'd be a good fit.

Feel that Grabner would be a good thing for Pittsburgh what would the Islanders want (Hint: Please take Kennedy )

If he was the farthest thing from untouchable, that means he's being shopped around the league as we speak. Which I highly doubt. And to the poster who used offensive production to judge Martin - you serious?

Still no reactions to my proposal for Martin. Not even a counter offer. What would the Habs have to offer you for Martin?

It's not going to happen. Aside from pure value, Martin is worth exponentially more to the Isles than other teams. He's in the first year of an excellent contract.

There's a reason why no one is responding to your offer.

Semantics. You know what he meant. "Matt Martin" and "untouchable" don't belong together.

Here you go Adam. Martin and a first for pk subban. The only way we move him is to bring back a higher end player not lesser pieces. And your counter?
